Looking for an original NES power adapter and the HDMI Mod

Do you have interference from your original supply? Capacitors fixed mine.

Are they hard to come by one ebay?

Just as the title says.
Hit me up.

Have you considered grabbing a reasonably priced Sony PVM and doing the NES RGB mod on your console? Even if the PVM you buy doesn't have RGB, S-Video is almost as good.

It makes me die a little inside to hear people hooking up an NES to a modern TV. I've tried almost everything, even the expensive stuff, to replicate the feel on a modern TV and it is simply not possible. I understand it doesn't bother most people, but I can very much notice the delay on modern TVs even with equipment designed to reduce it.

I agree. Especially with unsightly case mods that can't be undone. I'd rather buy a TV that supports its inputs than ruin a vintage game console. Not that the NES is hard to come by, its just it, and everything else, is getting increasingly more rare as the ones left are either getting snatched up by collectors, or ruined with mods.

I have to ask, Why bother with an original Nintendo power supply, when your talking about modding it? I know the NES power supply is some off voltage. Like 9v AC, but from what I understand is you can use a standard DC PS in its place.

I have the HiDef NES mod, I actually bought one from the fist batch of kits and I honestly don't love it, I would much rather have an RGB modded one instead.

I think that the ones that do like it didn't play that much as a kid or they don't really care to play much now. My quick story is that years ago when I caught the retro bug before shit got crazy, I got an SNES and an NES and splurged on an XRGB mini Framemeister (I think these sell for just under $500 bucks today). Wow did it look great on the big TV, the lines, everything. I was blown away. I thought I had it all figured out...but what was strange to me was how bad I sucked at the games I used to be so good at. My timing felt way off. I just chalked it up to me being old now, and as a kid I guess I was just better.

A few years later I got lucky and was able to grab a common 13 inch RGB Sony PVM for a reasonable price. I hooked up my consoles to it and HOLY COW my mind was blown. All of a sudden I was hitting all of my wall jumps on Super Metroid, hitting all of my old jumps on SMB1, and it felt like it did when I was a kid. Since that day, my Framemeister has been in the box in the closet and I now have 3 PVMs. All of my consoles Wii and earlier will only be played on CRTs.

I used to try to dissuade people from HDMI mods online for these and more reasons, but usually the people who want them just want them out of convenience (so they think), and pointing out why they suck so bad, I rarely see it work ;/

Why not just use the composite out?

(please don't kill me)

This is acceptable...

The best "value" connection is S-video. RGB is king. Composite is...acceptable

:big_boss:

(I laughed at your comment for a good minute or two before I could pull it together to respond)

I'm probably too dumb to comment on this but why would someone go through all of the effort and money to mod a NES with HDMI when you can just grab one of those NES Classic minis?

And the reason can't be real carts vs emulation because if you are willing to play on a LCD then emulation should also equally not bother you.

@TheYeti is spot on.

I tried out the NES Classic and after 5 minutes it was back in the box.
