I've attached a pic of the 48VCT power supply that is bad. I know there are some out there from some companies but I'm very concerned and I want to make sure I get one that is right. I'm hoping someone can help me.

This is used to power a sound amp on a namco game called Motocross Go. I need to replace it. according to the manual it should read as follows: Voltage should be 24VAC accross J1 pins 1&3. It's not, it's dead. I need to find a replacement. Does anyone know much about these things and can help? I'm not very knowledged on these things but from my understanding it should measure 24v on pin 1 and 3 which would equal 48v total between the two pins. I hope someone can shed some light for me or even offer a possible other solution.

Thanks.

Before you scrap it, did you check to see if maybe testing the bare wires without the terminals in the connectors are ok? Maybe one is open. You have nothing to lose by trying.

You are calling it a power supply but the correct term is transformer.

Best,

Bill

Hmm. I have a CPU unit shelf pulled from a Motocross Go! machine at the shop. i don't think that transformer is on that shelf, but i can check next week...

It's not on the shelf I can tell you that.. It's mounted on the bottom base of the cabinet.. And yes, I'm aware it's called a transformer.. I just typod it for some reason. Over thinking maybe.. Anyways I think I've found an option. I could be wrong.

Check that out.. 16 bucks for a cheap replacement. The only thing that concerns me is if the picture they have next to it. I think it's wrong. It looks like a 24vtc and not a 48vtc. Also would 3amp be fine.

Anyways, the manual - http://www.crazykong.com/manuals/MotorcrossGo.man.pdf page 86 shows 24V-0V-24V on the in amp input. I think that the replacement on that page above should work fine if it's a true 48vtc. I'm assuming to that Center tap means RET voltage or 0 as needed.
