I am leaning towards a Demolition man or Terminator 2. I'm in Colorado and have seen both of these offered on the private market. Both for around 2300 to 2400. Is this a fair price for theses when they are in very good condition? V/R

I have gone through a good amount of pins including top tier like Twilight Zone (which I still own) and lower tiered Data East pins.

I miss my demolition man had tons of fun with it. Thats my vote. An yes decent price I would say.

We own both I have the Demo man now and T2 is at my brothers house and both are perfect 1st pins. Both have to me good sound tracks that don't make you crazy and are easy to understand. If I had to pick just one I'd go with Demo Man since it has the third flipper and few more shots but both are great you couldn't go wrong with T2 either it's an absolute classic and I Love it also.

t2 is worth more than demo man and will be easier to sell if you ever do that. They keep pumping out terminator movies so there will always be interest.

go see and play them and then decide. I would grab t2 if its nice, but then I never really played demo man.

If either pin has playfield wear, don't buy it. look for wear where the ball drops into lifters(the wood wears out). And landing points (ball dropping off ramps and hitting playfield or from the lifter kickout can wear out the playfield. Also look by pop bumpers for wear. check for cliffy protectors that protect ramp entrances(ramps are $200+) so look for cracks in the ramps. CLiffy protectors are also made to protect ball drops on most pins.

take off the backglass and look at the boards. Make sure some tweeker has not soldered wires directly to the board and find the batteries and look for acid damage to the board.

The cabs will fade, but Some pins you can find repo art for it. also don't get caught up with leds. to do a whole pin is about $100-$150+ and most people have horrible taste in leds and make their pins look like shit. CHeck to see if any have color dmd in it. that's a $400 add. If its not color, then make sure the display is nice an crisp. as they get old, they outgas and look shakey. also if the pin says credit 0. or freeplay. in the display, then its telling you something is wrong with it. Could be simple, or it could be board level repair.

Demolition man is a better game
T2 is a better theme

Value on them is close, but in my area I'd say demolition man is more valuable.

I wouldn't pay over 2 grand for either unless they are in really good condition (cosmetically and physically), fresh rubber and leds.

Remember too, that on pins mechanicals are easier to fix then things like playfield wear.

Thanks for the info guys. I am going to look at a Demolition man this Sat. The guy is asking 2600. I saw one other one for 2400, but the guy hasn't gotten back to me. There are some good businesses that sell pins around me but it seems like they are always asking well over a grand more for games. If the pin is in great shape, and it looks it from the pics Ill see if I can get it for 2400, but I am willing to pay the 2600 if he is firm.
