So I went through the who fixes what thread. I didn't see anyone specifically fixing mvs boards.
Long story short. I lent two mvs mv2 board to a friend to test a boardless gold 2 slot neo geo cabinet. I guess when he plugged it in he heard a pop and the speakers were making a high pitched sound. So he figured the board was no good and proceeded to plug my second board in with the same results.
He brought the boards back and I plugged them into my cabinet and all I get is the red led on the board. No sounds no video. I went over the boards only thing I found was on one the bios chip smelled burned and I found a crack in it. Other wise no swollen caps or bulging chips. No funny burned smells.
Now yes I know I shouldn't of lent both boards. But lesson learned.
Is anyone from the states willing to try to repair these? If not at the very least maybe you can use them as donor boards?
