Been vacationing in Destin, Florida since Saturday (at the "Holiday Beach Resort"), and I found an Attack from Mars in the fledgling game room.

I think I've put about $20 into the machine so far. ;)

$20=lots of play hours! Love it when I come across one random pin like that. Came across a Williams Indiana Jones in a hotel lobby a few years ago, and a LOTR at a truck stop in the middle of the desert between L.A. and Phoenix.

It plays pretty well. There's a broken plastic under the big flying saucer that keeps catching balls, forcing you to tilt the machine to knock it loose...but that's the only major issue. (Well, aside from the DMD going out.) And of course, it hasn't been cleaned or had any balls/rubbers replaced in a hundred years.

I asked the operator if it was for sale and he said that it wasn't. That's a shame, 'cause I have a feeling it's just being wasted at this resort where I'm staying. (This place is comprised of a couple dozen timeshare units owned by people much, much older then myself, and for this week at least, it seems like I'm the only person who gives a crap about the machine at all.)

Cash is king. Walk in there with $2000 and show him the money. If it takes a little more have it with you.

This happened with a friend of mine. A few years ago I was buying brand new Stern's for $3200. So my friend offered the operator a new in-the-box game and got a routed MM as an even trade.

The MM I just bought was on location..

Just picked up a Midevil Madness that was on location a little while ago.. Sat in the same hotel for years.. Can't believe it wasnt stolen or beat up.. Heh, now its in a nice home.

hehe, white van "we are here from XYZ operator, need to service it!"

gogogogo

(I am not condoning the unauthorized removal of a pinball machine)
