what is your longest gap between bringing games home?

unless something goes wrong, my streak will end tomorrow. it has been over 2.5 years since I brought a new game home. I did acquire a gauntlet last year, but it is at my brother in law's house. I also got a beat up poker machine, but the cabinet only made it as far as the driveway, before it got smashed.

I think it's been 3 years for me.

I bought three games back in 2007 (pretty sure it was 07) and sold them. Didn't buy another game until last year (2010)

I think I went about 5 years one time, after my first machine. I was happy having just one for a long time because I just wanted to be able to have one to play. Then I found a Dig Dug, decided I needed a pinball, needed to even it out with a Pole Position, etc. etc. etc. and now I'm at 2-3 a year and can't see that changing soon.

From August 2005 to January 2009. I was content with just pinball for a long time, then I started playing the uprights upstairs at Castles N' Coasters....

About 6 months is my longest streak, the time in between auctions in the area. Haven't bought any in 2011 yet but I did put a deposit on a Tron to pick up probably on the 16th.

Last thing I got was on 9-29-10 my Rowe coin changer then life just got way to crazy. So far nothing after picking that up.

woops i mean 9/29/11

July 2008 (1st game) - Dec 2009 (2nd game) about 17 months..

Like most first time collector's I was excited about just about owning an arcade game.

Then I discovered Craigslist.

Bought my first 3 games in '88. Next games were in '08 so 20 years between games. Do I win a prize :D

Nope. I bought my first game in 1983 (Battlezone) and the second game (a Joust cabinet with Splatterhouse in it) in 2008, so 25 years between games. :D

ken

BTW: The cabinet stayed and was mostly restored before getting sold, the Splatterhouse board got sold. The Battlezone it still here.

I bought a Tekken 2 in a 4-player Konami cab to use for MAME back in 2003. That was it until 2008. I don't think I have made it longer than 6 months without bringing in a new one since then.

I guess I need to change mine...

I was going through some older files, and the dates on them suggest I bought the first of my current games around October 2009.

So, that cuts me down to about two years

Yeah I have a feeling it might be a while before another game joins the roster. Right now it will be the year of parts and restoration. Last year was like 55% restoration and acquiring parts other 45% was buying stuff (games large items). I think this year will be like 85% to 90% Acquiring parts and restoration work and maybe 10% to 15% buying games maybe even none.
