Hi again!

I have a line on a route location for some of my machines. I am not particularly concerned with theft, but I wondered if there was a device like a Lojack that could be installed in arcade cabinets to track them.

Anyone have anything like this if they route games?

Chris

Hmm, never heard of putting a tracking device in an arcade game... and I can't actually imagine anyone stealing an entire upright, but, I suppose anything is possible.

I'd be more worried about abuse than theft. I *have* heard of people installing alarms in games before - a cheap smoke detector with the test switch wired up to the cabinet slam switch (or a pinball plumb-bob tilt mechanism).

There was a company that made a Lojack like device for briefcases. I know there are gps tracking devices for kids and cars. Maybe one of those would work.

another thing you could do is what they do on boats. in mass the boat registration people will give you a serial number to stuff inside the hull somewhere hidden in case of theft. carve or brand a unique mark somewhere up inside the cab that's gonna be a bitch to get at, so it can be identified as yours if stolen.

Don't Do It!

:D

If its gonna be a pin, put it at my house. I'll guarantee it 50 bucks a week, you get the whole take and it won't get the crap beat out of it!

If its a vid, 5 bucks a week and it will get the crap beat out of it... Same as anywhere else! lol

You could do like car manufacturers have been doing is inscribing the VIN # on most of the large parts in the car. Such as the windows. I'm not saying that will help track it like a GPS, but the parts could be matched to the cabinet if chopped up!.........lol

Can't you also take pictures of your games on route, for insurance purposes? Also take pics of serial#s on your pcbs.

Could always just put a sticker on the machine saying it's being tracked. Might discourage theft.
