logic probes

I bought mine at Radio Shack. I have no idea if they still carry them, but since it's not a cell phone or cell phone accessory, I somehow doubt it...

R/S is attempting to get "geekified" again.

I would recommend buying a used oscilloscope. To me it's the best logic probe and you can actually see what's going on. But a logic probe does have its place and I use one as well.

That said, if you are buying one, get one that has audio and not just LED indicators. That way you can focus on where the probe is touching and get audible feedback.

Searching this forum will yield recommendations from the past. This topic has been covered several times.

That's a good deal. It looks remarkably similar to the B&K Precision DP21 that I have (which lacks a beeper) that is twice the price.

I had the B&K recommended to me (a model with a beeper) and found this one when trying to find the source model for the B&K. They almost always seem to OEM there stuff and you can usually find a different brand that is the same for cheaper. They have a $20 minimum order or something like that, but I bought some parts to easily make the amount required. It works great and I highly recommend it and Electronix Express. Have not had any problems ordering from them several times.

+1 on getting one with the audio... also make sure it has 2 LEDs - one for logic low and another for logic high. Sounds odd, but I've seen some pretty strange probes out there that had only one LED.
