I just picked up a 1967 King of Diamonds. The Latch behind the coin door that holds the lockdown bar for the playfield glass is stuck. It moves about an 1/8 of an inch. Does anyone have any ideas of how the mechanism works, or how I can free it without breaking the glass?

you have to pull the coin door, and with a mirror, unbolt/screw the lockbar mechanism. its tough, but do-able. otherwise you have to spray rust buster up there, and make a total mess. if you do that , line the cabinet with old towels with plastic underneath.

good luck

they get stuck quite a bit. mostly from storage in damp conditions and not having been opened in years. the sliding part just rusts itself to the rest of the mechanism.
