The Joust I just got has matching locks for the front 2 coin doors, but was missing the rear lock for the back panel. Am I able to buy a lock based on what the key says? (I'm hoping so) The key says "Maverick" on one side, and the number 172 on the other. And on that side, it also says "HIGHCLASSLOCK"

Am I in luck, or shit out of it? :D

And does anyone here have a used lock that would fit my key? Or should I just take a lock to a locksmith and have them re-key it?

Thanks in advance!

Self-bump. Hewp? Thanky.

That's an awful lot of work for a back door lock. Get any lock, put it on, and hang the key from the hook inside the coin door.

I believe you should be able to get one from the manufacturer. From my understanding certain companies make key/lock sets exactly numbered 000 to 999 so that if you lose your key you can simply order a replacement as long as you have the number written down. The same should apply for the lock.

Try contacting the manufacturer, couldn't hurt to ask.

Yes, some lock manufacturers have certain models of their locks available "keyed alike" to one of their "house" key numbers.

Thanks guys! (Haha, I had forgotten about this thread) Yeah, I know it's a lot of unnecessary work, but it seems like a good idea to have the whole cabinet keyed alike...

Or you could just pop down to Lowes and sort through the drawer locks they have hanging up until you find some that have the same keys. Then just use the cams off the old locks...

Or just order a set (or two, or three) from twisted quarter. I am doing that to rekey all my machines gradually (so I don't drain the hobby budget too fast) and it is a huge improvement. You get two keys per lock so with a standard 3 lock set up you get 6 keys. 2 for the machine and the rest in the drawer or stashed around so you always have a key handy.

Yeah, well... It just seems like a waste, since I have two matching locks already, but I guess these things aren't that expensive to begin with, so... Thanks all.
