get yourself a high quality tool and some extra spare pins to practice crimping on as it is the quality of the crimping, and quality of finish on the pin that affects reliability. using a cheap tool can damage the crimp pin such that part of the metal fold over loop holding the wire insulation can crack or break off as a result of crimping due to incorrect crimper die size or wrong choice of crimp pin to suit the wire size - get the molex tool itself, worth the extra. and you need to specify the right crimp pin size to suit the cable conductor and insulation size (AWG) - measure the cable first then check the pins on offer. Molex data sheets have the range of pin models to suit awg sizes listed in catalogues and you can buy other pins to usit different wire sizes at digikey/mouser etc if ed doesn't have the right ones.
