LOCATE / Ident: Video card for nascar racing global vr / ea.. not the sega one.

Anyone have the info on this... was this a proprietary video card or can i locate old pc hardware for this sucker? Thanks... Game on location I would like to avoid extracting the card in there for now.

I do not know what that one is exactly other than it is a pci express. I would tend to believe (if you added the device driver to windows) any one would work. however did you happen to see the service bulletin from global vr on that unit?

I know my pga tour took a normal video card that i got for about $15.00 used.

I would speculate a standard PCI-E video card is used. I just wonder if you'll have the same issue as Midway had where some games were proprietary to a particular 3D chipset? I'd call Globa VR first before you head out. 408-597-3435 Oh yeah - btw use the KISS theory K.eep I.t S.imple S.tupid. The damn card just might need to be reseated ;)

I didn't feel like spending $400 through my game distributor so I did a little investigating and found one in England on epay for just over $40 shipped. It also had twice the memory (like that even mattered.)
I posted a question here a while ago:

What is the actual problem? Are you sure it is the video card? I recently thought it was a video card when playing it was like an LSD experience (it was truely trippy) and I was digging around in the game and took PC apart, re-seat all connectors and video card inside PC to no fix. Then for some reason I "Fonzied" the side of the display and it cleared up. Turned out that the input DVI cable that connects to the display was very loose (upper keyed access panel directly behind monitor).
It also helps if you have 2 or more games you can swap parts off of to determine the the prob. I have 2 in one arcade and 4 in another so that helped. One thing you might have to do if you don't get the almost same card is to reinstall the game (learned that with Fast & Furious).
I found that the heat sinks on the video card seems a little too warm , so the next little project is to install an extra fan or two to keep them cooler and with the quietness of the fan not really being an issue, it is no big deal in a loud arcade. And maybe adding some air filters to the incoming fans. I have replaced about 15 processor fans, video cards & video card fans.
Also forgot: Double check the warranty on it. It has a one full year warranty. I was just a couple weeks out of warranty when I had my problem.

Thank you very much guys for all the advice. Will have this problem solved lickity split now!.
cheers,
Chad.
