I think there could be an interesting thread here: "What people message you after you try to bargain."
Well, here's some classic ones from him after I asked about KRULL:
"My arcade sales just from craigslist were over 8K and that is not including my ebay and web site sales, maybe if you did better advertising."
He also said he would buy any Krull for $400+ because he has two and he's always looking for more and they pay themselves off in 8 months. This was after I pointed out to him the ones that ended on ebay for way less when I was trying to buy Krull for 400 as opposed to his asking price..
He said he knew a guy that turned down best offers of 700 on ebay for them, which I know is bs...
This is my favorite one though:
"Arcades have taken a steep rise and you will not find those prices even at the auctions"
"AGAIN, poor salesman on your behalf and why you wont do as good in the arcade business as every one else who has more professionalism than you. In the future you should swallow your pride, it does nothing for you but take money out of your pocket. You should probably find a better income source if every time you get your feelings hurt when you are turned down. Sounds like you have a lot of rejection issues."
"I tell you what. I will give you some free advice, NEVER insult a business person and come to their town, I might be on your level and have you banned from Michelangelo's auction. but since I am not, I will just have a laugh at your expense. Do not take my generosity as weakness. So better that water under the bridge and let this sleeping dog keep on sleeping and such."
My responses were:
"I advertise on ebay, message boards, you name it...and I do keep an eye on your inventory and Krull has been there awhile and so has Strider. Regardless I don't think we are going to work out a deal, you are firm on your price and you are trying to assess blame or something towards a potential customer. Good luck with your sales."
"Banned from Michaelangelo's auctions? Are you that dense? I'm not coming to Cincy for an auction, I'm coming in on Friday to drop off a game, that's it. No one insulted you, but honestly, I just won't deal with you period. After reading what you just wrote to me? Wow. "
Obviously there is more but there's some history with him opening an arcade in Cincy and him not being a part of it anymore. I don't know the whole story, but he's definitely got some chips on his shoulder and he's rubbed a lot of people the wrong way...
