Auctions (Other) Live Captains auction

Wow, Stern pins going low. Premium Venom, John Wick & Foo Fighters going for under $6k each. Godzilla premium $6700

Prices will begin to drop a lot I think.
Many people are finally broke and over the last two years it seems like there have been an increasing number of machines (even whole collections) coming up for sale.

On one hand I am happy to see more arcade machines for sale but it sad to see arcade collectors losing thier passion for these machines.
It may not be that. Money is tight, times are hard. People are pulling back and selling stuff to buy other stuff.

I haven't sold a game in 7 years but I haven't turned on most of mine in 5 years. Been working to change that but I bet 90% won't work when I turn them on.

We are all getting older and there probably aren't going to be enough people to replace all of us in this hobby. I could be wrong.

This is something Ive started thinking about a lot. I've only been collecting for about a year and a half, but now have a couple full cabinets. My generation is the last to really have nostalgia for "arcades", so in about 20-30 years, the market is going to be flooded with family members trying to get rid of inherited heavy, bulky items that no one wants. It will probably be great for the small handful of Gen Zers who want to collect "retro" stuff, but I feel bad for my daughter who is going to have to deal with this eventually >.<

It's great to be able to find cabinets here and there for only a couple $100, but it also makes it easy to amass a large collection of valueless crap >.<

What can you say? Someone apparently loves it. There's one up here on Craigslist for $450. Granted it has an LCD but still…

I mean, it looks like a poor man's crazy taxi with paperboy controls? Maybe it's awesome?

A radikal bikers sold for $4k. Am I missing something?
There must've been 5 kilos of coke or a few bars of gold hidden in that thing. I refuse to believe that ANY gaelco game, let alone Radikal Bikers, is worth a tenth of the price it went for.

Is Captains not posting the prices anymore? I went on there today (Nov 10th) to see what things sold for as I like to see trends and keep tabs on how much machines are going for and for the first time they are listing items as sold and no final price. :(

Its happened the last few auctions now. Not sure why other then they don't want people to see how cheap stuff has been selling for because people will stop being stuff if the they think there is a chance they won't get enough for it. It seems like he has been getting increasingly angry the last few actions when he thinks stuff should sell for more than it does. Especially the pinballs.

Their auctions are archived on twitch so worst comes to worst you could pull it up and go to the item and see how much it sells for.

It happened, but the prices appeared a day or two later. The past auctions will usually get removed about a week after.
