Little old lady

Hopefully you'll have better luck than I did. I looked at those exact games about 5-6 years ago and they were thinking they had a gold mine.

Ah. This would explain the desire to auction them.

She doesn't want to sell them to me she wants them in the auction. She will pay me to pick them up and put them in the auction.

"Sorry - I cannot take them to the auction for you. But, if you end up hanging onto them and subsequently would like to sell, here's my #."

That's just me, though...

offer to take one of your choice to put the others into the auction.
No doubt she won't want the ZK or Sinistar. She probably thinks that the Ms Pac is the most valuable.

You can always bid on them at auction as auction prices of these common ones will go rock bottom.

Update

Totally bummed out. I went to look at the games today.
The guy and the lady swear they all work and it's just a fuse or something simple.
The mold, mildew, wood rot, rust , water stains, bugs, rat nests w/shit and 3/4 inch of dust grime were normal.

Ohh and the guys played every game when they moved them into storage and they all worked perfect.
Asteroids- Cabinet was descent but it was missing the pcb( Wonder how far along the guys got playing this one with no cpu)

Sinistar - Cabinet was ok but game completely DOA

Ms pacman 1- Lights up scrambled numbers and freaky stuff going on. Guy says "I got the game in test mode"

Ms Pacman 2- Bottom all water damage with a thick layer of mold on the back. " He don't understand because this game worked great he remembers playing it"

Centipede - DOA botom rotted out cabinet separating from sides Rats nest inside

Zoo Keeper - Doa Cabinet rotted on bottom

Popeye - The only game that made noise, attract music and you could see the game playing but monitor was shot.

Space Invaders- Clearly the best cabinet of the bunch- a glow on the neck and that was it. I could see the holders for the cpu but there was nothing in it. I couldnt get in the back door because they had a hasp and a master lock with no key. But it looks like the cpu could be missing.

I brought 2 grand with me not knowing what to expect. I genuinely didn't want to even offer him $500 but I did , he accused me of trying to pick his pocket and these games were easily fixable bla bla bla, . I said you do know that were in a recession and a Good Working clean Ms Pacman can be picked up any where for $400. He said have a nice day.

As I was walking away he said bottom line number was $1000 and take them all.
I though long and hard and I couldn't bring my self to do it. Just to much damage.
He was not willing to sell one or two.

If any one wants his number pm me. I want the space Invaders cabinet only.

Seller is getting nervous.

Would've left my number with him. If he called back, I would say, "$300 for everything, and kiss my f**king feet for wasting my time previously and B.S.ing me about their condition." :D

Now that I look at the pictures, it looks like water is standing on the floor. You can see the reflection on the right side. Especially on the ZK picture.

Sorry it did not work out for you.

Kudos for self control. If you got them all you may have regretted it.

They were totally BSing you on the condition.

You can see the mold growing from the bottom and up the sides on some of the cabinets (especially the Ms. Pac's). You can also see some of the blow-out on the bottom of ZooKeeper. That whole situation is unfortunate.

These people sound really annoying. Totally baited you into going there, then tried to get cheap labor out of you. Then accused YOU of trying to jack them. It would be bad for the games, but karma may even out if they get stuck with those long enough to have them crumble from the mold/wood damage. Sounds like these are only good for parts (except maybe SI...but that's been sitting in the same water tank as the other games).

As someone else mentioned, I would have left them some contact info and took off.

You should`nt have been too surprised at the condition of the games. Just looking at the pix you can see water lines on the cabs. I would have asked Anthony for some more info before you took the ride there since he said he looked at them 5-6 years ago. If these people do call you back leave your 2 grand home & take them some fuses & tell them good luck !!!

For cabinets like that I usually pay $50 tops

Do people like the owners in this thread really let you talk them down to $50? If it were me, and I thought my games were worth a gold mine and it turns out they weren't I'd hang onto them rather than get scrap value for them. Hell, I'd keep them out of spite at that point.

Which is probably what happend 5-6 years ago when the other guy tried to buy them.

Combo'ing greed with some spite isn't going to up the value. These people also seem lazy. I can't get around the whole, "Take them to the auction and sell them for us before you get to buy any" angle. I'd be really, really annoyed with that.

I wish you could haul their lot to auction for like $500-700 cash for the labor and then they get stuck loosing the whole lot on $20 bids.

The other week I drove 50 miles in the rain to go see a pair of "working" bill changers. $300 for the pair.

The shady guy didn't have pictures or even meet me there. He instead had one of his workers meet me and I was like these are 1/2 apart and nothing is coming up other one one light.

On the way out they offered both to me for $60 bucks and I was like SCREW THIS. You guys wasted my time and gas.

Yup, they're probably kicking themselves for not selling years ago, but even then they wouldn't have made half of what they think they're worth. Oh well. Same as that mess in western Illinois that I dealt with, and the same as the guy 2 minutes from my house. They want to get rid of the games, but only if they can quit work for the next 2 months with their profits from the sale.

I would have just laughed "out loud" and walked away.....still laughing

... Here are the pictures her daughter just sen me.

Is the daughter good-looking? :D

Sorry, had to ask... For no real reason.

Worst warehouse raid ever. Sorry, man.
