Monitor from a Operation Thunderbolt. Needs a cap kit, at the least, seems to be folding over the top 2 inches of the screen, and I can't adjust it out. Caps are obviously swollen.

I can't seem to ID it other than its a Hantarex (which I've never had the fun of working on yet, but I think I have 3 broken ones that just arrived.

Anyone? I've looked at google images for an hour, but cant find one with the flyback in the corner.

Help!

Hmm. Looks almost like the Glendale/Eygo 728. Probably the Wei-Ya version:

Well, that sure would un-complicate things. I think it was supposed to be a Hantarex 9000, but this looks nothing like it, so this would explain it. Not knowing anything about those, are they worth repairing/send off for repair?

Yeh that's definitely a Wei-ya replacement. The splices in the yoke wires also give it away as a replacement.

Don't know what model it is though.

So whats my best option for a repair/replacement. Is there a suitable option replacement out there, hopefully higher in quality than this replacement? Or should I just try to find an orig 9000 chassis?

"Might" have some markings screened somewhere on the chassis like 825H, 826HR, etc. (or some variant like that) I have found them under stickers applied to the chassis before also.
Might look on the backside of that heatsink around the flyback and see if there is a label on it.
Have come across ProMax chassis that were Wei-Ya's also. (just a brand name like Glendale/Eygo)

The few I have messed with seemed pretty solid and easy to work on. Caps and transistors and such like any other chassis.
In your case if it's "working" it probably just needs re-capped to fix the image sizing problem.

I pulled it and all I can find is this:

ProMaz 102161. Doesn't come up with much in google

That "ProMax" label should have 'their' model number like 1000c as an example. Your picture is out of focus.

This is in reality a Wei-ya.

Its hard with an ipphone, even though my shop has awesome lighting, thats the best of 3

The ProMax sticker has no part #s, just the one next to it that lists 102161

I guess I can start by swapping the cap that is known bad (its leaking and has swollen so much the plastic sleeve is torn. I thought I'd just be able to buy a kit for cheap, and skip the time at Skycraft digging through bins.

Bob Roberts does sell some cap kits for various versions of that chassis.....just best to narrow it down a bit further because I personally couldn't tell you the differences in caps from one to the other. (probably not much)

He has some listed for Eygo, Promax and a Wei-Ya generic.
All basically the same chassis with minor component value differences I'm sure.

I think I've found it!

I think its a Wei-ya 825H. At least its really really really close.

Yeah, probably pretty close for sure.

Just a note -
The difference between an "H" and an "HR" is the R stands for REMOTE.
So that 825H has a row of seven adjustment pots on it where the 825HR would have a remote board. (like yours)
The other three pots in a row are found on all the chassis's I know of.

Reminds me, I need to dig those few I have out and take some pics for documentation.
