I recently picked up a Guantlet Legends Dedicated cabinet ( a grail of mine ) and have made updates to it:

New Power Supply
Kortek KT-2914 monitor Cap kit
Flash Drive replacing old hard drive.

So during gameplay and attract screens the monitor has a flicker constantly to it. I have tried everything including buying a new exact power supply, trying all the settings on brightness/contrast/monitor adjustments and so on. I am frustrated to the point where I cannot play the game any longer and need some help eliminating this annoying screen flicker. The only thing I can think of is the jamma edge connector is not making the contact or voltage needed, or a sync issue. However the game plays fine for 5-10 minutes then gets the flicker going. Any help is welcomed.

Thanks
Chris

yeah my first thought was the flyback is arcing.

Don't stick your hand back there, but open the back and watch the monitor chassis and listen for when it flickers.

no noise from that at all. looks brand new like everything else in this game. Also when i try to bring up the on screen monitor menu it does not stay put like it should. It flickers and goes towards the bottom of the screen and becomes so non visible that i cannot see it any longer as it comes on/off so many times.

Flickers?

If its on OSD, with no signal
its in the monitor..
Resolder all connectors around neck board
and to main board and headers..
Did you replace all the caps on the board?

As ohemerone said, if the OSD is stuffing around, and isn't closing right away or refusing to open at all, you've got problems in the monitor itself.

I'd start by checking the deflection IC for the correct Vcc, make sure you're not looking at unstable logic due to a flaky power supply.
