Any interest in some? I'm probably going to order a bunch of parts up including LEDs, I have been getting some great results with 60g force Micro's on lit buttons, and using a variet of SM LED's the most interesting of which is pink lighting a white button. I have found a huge variety of combinations and while I realize this forum is probably not the ideal place for this post (ie. lit buttons are not exactly restoration) I thought I might put it out there and see if there is interest. I should be able to come in 1/2 of the price through ultimarc with much better LED lights and high quality micro's.

I've also been getting a wide variety of LED's for testing so let me know if you have any interest and I can put a kit together. Arcade or pinball.

I'm still toying with putting a site together to list everything, but I really don't want to bother unless people are very interested. I'll post some pictures later (tonight I'm on Trauma call woohoo, you know life sucks when your horse trips on a cow and you get hurt )

Can you post a few pics? One of my ideas is to have certain buttons unlit and others lit with different colors on a multigame to indicate which ones are active for that game. Maybe multicolor leds so you can make the same button illuminate with different colors?

Thanks,

Bill

Here we go

Look for pictures to appear at this link:

Buttons: Chrome( Yellow, Blue, Red, Green) Normal (Yellow, Blue, Red, Green, White)
LEDs: T5 wedge, B9S
1,4,5,7 led combo lights
SMD lights in bayonet style or as shown with 5 chips for diffuse light

My favorite is the SMD bayonet in the buttons, this gives a nicer distribution than even the 7 LED light (shown as the pink light in the white button)
The 5 chip SMD lit up my Ryobi 18v flashlight as well as the regular bulb.

I am not sure of exact prices yet, as I don't know what people are interested in, I can price everything out independently and let people mix and match if they want. But give me a few combinations and any references for where these are available, right now I only have ultimarc at 5.80 a button (including the LED). I can beat that with the same quality and can probably beat it even with the SMD LED's.

I will respond to all pricing inquiries in the thread so everyone can know what's going on. Also let me know if you want any comparisons.

My favoirte is still the pink light in the white button, it looks really nice.

I may be interested. This last week I just built a control panel box for the mame cabinet that I am putting together. I was thinking of a four player control panel with two set ups having six buttons and the last two having four buttons each and a track ball and spinner with three buttons. Each of the same buttons for each player would share a color; i.e., button 1 for all players would be red, button 2 would be green and so on.

I was hoping to have a set up like MrBill was mentioning in that the buttons would light up to indicate what buttons to use for that game. I haven't looked into the LED light options so I know nothing about them. Price would be fairly important though.

Ok, here's what I'm coming up with for pricing, someone let me know if there are better references. I'm trying to do this so it makes sense for me as I'll have to mail carry stock etc, but so that I can save everyone something over the main brands.

Basic tranlucent button shown, any color 1.35 grade B micro(125g force), 1.70 grade A micro(60g force)

Chrome buttons shown, any color 1.75 Grade B, 2.10 Grade A

LEDs
Single LED - .40 (Red, Green, White, Blue, Yellow)
4 spot LED - 1.00 (Red, Green, White, Blue, Yellow)
7 spot LED - 1.40 (Red, Green, White, Blue, Yellow)
SMD 1 watt - 3.50 (Pink, Red, Green, White, Blue, Yellow)
SMD 1.5 watt - 4.00 (Pink, Red, Green, White, Blue, Yellow)

This was based on Ultimarc comparisons, Basically the SMD is the only way that would push close to their prices, and the 1 watt pink in the white button is still only 5.20, which is cheaper than them, but it's an incredible button. The 7 spot is nice than their three and that woudl be about half their cost.(not to mention you can get this for about or less than 2 with the single LED's which are what I have been using on my machines) I will keep looking for ways to drop prices, write me for what you might be interested in. Also let me know if there are other retail sources for lit buttons, I want to make sure that my price point is worth doing this. If I can't be competitive, I won't get too deep here. And yes, the LED is on top of the button price....
