I have a helluva commute these days, so I've been downloading as many podcasts as I can get my hands on. Anyone else listen to arcade podcasts? It seems that there are a handful of pinball podcasts, and several console podcasts of which I have no interest, but not very many classic arcade machine podcasts.

Who's listening to what?

Retro Gaming Roundup has some decent arcade stuff every now and then, but it is mostly a console show. I just discovered that the guys behind arcade repair tips has one as well. but other than that, I don't know a dedicated arcade show.

Thanks for mentioning http://www.retrogamingroundup.com. Each podcast does have some arcade and pinball discussions. And coming yet this week in our October cast we have the first aired interview with Ted Dabney, co-creator of Atari and Computer Space. And he calls Nolan out more times than you can count. This is one show none of you want to miss.

In fact, we dedicate this entire 6+ hour podcast to Atari. And we debate the top ten Atari/Kee Arcade games.

And, with over 120 hours of back shows your commutes should be well covered:)

If you just go to iTunes, you can search arcade or pinball, there are lots. I listen to them all night when I'm working, blue toothed through my jabra car speakerphone......

I second Retro Gaming Round Up. It's a great listen. Start with the beginning episode and work your way towards the present. I don't think it's tilted that heavily towards consoles, but either way it's a good listen.

Those are the two that I listen to and I recommend them both. I don't always agree with some of the advice given on Arcade Repair Tips, but at least its 90 minutes of arcade talk.

RGR is really good and I've listened to every show. Lot's of console talk, but a good amount of arcade stuff as well.

I'm commuting almost two hours a day. Love those This Old Pinball podcasts when they interview designers. Listened to most of them already. Python Angelo is a character. I'd be him for Halloween if I could.

I might be doing some traveling in a month or so, so I'll be checking out all these other suggestions. Please keep them coming.

I too enjoyed TOPcast, but they haven't had a new episode in a long time. Their interview with George Gomez was awesome to hear since he has such a long history in coin-op (Satan's Hollow, Spy Hunter, et al, all the way up to Pinball 2000 - Revenge from Mars). Tales of the Silverball is probably my favorite in terms of flow of the show. I just started listening to the Spooky Pinball Podcast. It is ok, but there's such a drought that I still enjoy it.

Again, it seems that the pinheads outweigh the arcade junkies when it comes to # of podcasts produced.

The only good one I found was TOPcast. It's AMAZING. I have probably listened to a lot of them twice already. If you want to understand Pinball, the designers, and the business, then you must download TOPcast. Clay pretty much everybody in the entire industry. It's really educational. I LOVE IT. LOVE IT.

Retro Roundup is snoozeville.

Well, at least try and stay awake for our Ted Dabney interview :)
