lineup: should pins be with pins and cabs be with cabs OR.....

Is it good to intermix them? Up until now my 2 pins have been side by side, and I'm itching to change the lineup around a bit (mainly because the pins kick off so much light).

My theorized lineup change will put one pin one wall of the room and the other on another wall of the room. I'm thinking it will be good, but wanted to ask those who may have made such an attempt before and felt they, well, chose poorly......

I like keeping my pins together, on a different wall from my games, but it all comes down to personal preference.

don't think it matters but pins do take up more space so I think it generally makes sense to group them for that reason. I have seen a set up with a pin next to a video game then a pin then a video game. I will say that this set up can comfortably allow both the pins and the video games to be played since the pins are longer.

My only consideration has been to try to keep the flipper buttons "protected" in an arrangement so that if somebody is playing pinball, that nobody playing a nearby game will back into their hand. No pinball player will be happy if they lose their ball in play because somebody's ass just smashed into their hand. (unless, of course, it was a hot chick - but this only happens in pornos, really)

Um, haven't you ever been in an old school arcade?

I feel that the area you are filling will dictate the layout of vids and pins, especially if you have an odd shaped layout. If you are going for maximum game density in a minimum space, then Joe Magiera should definitely be consulted. I've been to a couple of his game parties and it never ceases to amaze me how many vids and pins he can fit in one small space and still find room for a wall game and a popcorn machine!! And you never really notice as his game collection is so good.....

I have my pool table in one end so the arcade games line the walls on that end and the pins have the walls on the other end. I found if I had the pins on the pool table end of the room you had to jack your stick up to clear the game, and that just doesnt work, so they all had to go to the other end. Works out pretty nicely though

I like having my games mixed up. All different shapes and sizes in no particular order.

In my gameroom I had to group the pinball machines together to make two main pinball walls. I put the video games on their own wall and put a cluster of video games in the middle of the room.

I tried different layouts but the pins take up a lot of room. Also I had to factor in room to remove the glass if needed to access a pinball machine.

Pins should be sold, and replaced with the 5 video arcade games you could get for less than the same price.

I already have 10+ video games in the gameroom plus two multi type games to play the common stuff. Why sell the pins? I have a nice mix of games. Most of my friends tell me to sell the video games and have more pins in the gameroom. I guess 17 pinball machines is not enough for them.

Every party I have the pins get all the play and the video games just sit there.

Pin, vid, pin, vid, pin, vid has to be an awkward set up. Especially when every machine is occupied. Like...pin guy has people constantly in his peripheral and the arcade guys will feel like they can't really move around.

Well, you're biased, look at your handle. :D

I wondered how long it would take for someone to call me on my comment, hehehehe.

I like pins, but I LOVE arcade games. I think it just boils down to what you played more as a kid. I never cared for pins, they seemed like "Old man games" to me. Video games were the new, hot thing for me.
