I have these lines on the right side on my monitor they run vertical. Also every so often the screen flashes a blue tint over the graphics. The blue tint doesn't happen often. Is this the sign I need a cap kit or is it some adjustment? I am also not sure what type of monitor I have there is a label that says 19k4615 but I just wanted to double check. I attached a picture of my monitor. Any tips appreciated!

Yes, that is a 4600. Very hard to tell from a pic of the neck board though.

LOL oops here is a better picture. This would be my first cap kit, should I hire someone or try it on my own? From what I have read on these forums a 4600 is more difficult to work on. Any tips?

And a better pic of the monitor:

meh i think the nintendo 20-ez is a harder one to recap

i just finished a 4600 and it went of without a hitch
the nice thing about them is there are only a handfull of caps on the actual chassis most are on the x-y board, interface board, and the power board all wich are removed easy

the big deal with the 4600 is they are kinda a pia to take appart but in my opinion still more easy tham the 20 ez lol

I just finished a recaping 2 4600's, Discgolfer72 is right ther fairly strait forward once you get it apart start by discharging the tube, then remove the 2 screw's on the left hand side, you should be able to loosen all the cables that attach the tube to the chassis then remove the screw on the right had side of the chassis that hold's the flyback. now you should be able to pull the chassis right out and stick it on your bench. Then remove the 4 screw's that hold the bottom place on and desolder the horz width coil this will give you acess to the solder side of the pcb. First thing is to remove the daughter boards start by remove the black plastic retainer should just have to clip a zip tie. be carefull when removing the daughter boards the connections on the bottom can get brittle over 30yrs. replace the caps on the main chassis and there are 2 on the regulator board then replace all the caps on bothe daughter boards. Before you put it back together the connectors on the daughter boards that plug in to the main chassis there nutorious for problems also solder the opposite side on the connector on the main pcb. plus it would'nt hurt to check the flyback and drive transformer for loose connections. then reasemble the monitor. you'll have to realighn it cause thing will change!!!! for the better
