When I tell you guys I am FEELING GREAT.

It is Christmas in February for sure.

Nothing like two games showing up at the door you've been waiting for, for a while!

Not just any games, but one HIGHLY desired game and one an absolute GRAIL respectively. Out Run and BLACK…F****** WIDOW!! Widow especially needs some love on the control panel, joysticks, kickplate and coin door, but we'll get that sorted out no problem and ready to tackle that.

Out Run, great player's condition and thanks to @KaBoom1701, has all the necessary parts tacked on to make it all pretty again

Thanks @KaBoom1701 for packing it so well.

Black Widow, working (amazing) sourced from @BigDogs, will need some more TLC than Out Run and I'm excited for its future. Thank YOU too for packing it so nicely.

Centipede cabaret serial number 1962 I found in a barn here in Virginia over the weekend for $100!! She'll clean up nicely! Even has the ashtray, I mean just peak Golden Age!

I think I'm set for the spring and summer. 💪🏻

So the first hours with the game complete. Lots of evaporust, lots of glass cleaner, Simple Green, etc, basic stuff. This game is in really good shape everywhere but the kickplate and coin door. I have a donor coin door from a parted out Pole Position cabinet that only needed a fresh coat of spray satin enamel, it's looking really good as a replacement. I could save the original but the rust is legendary and it's just simpler to donate from another Atari over/under cab.

I rebuilt the joysticks already with new complete assemblies because the grommets were chewed to all hell.

I absolutely WILL NOT be doing anything with the side art. I don't want to cover it and replace it with reproduction vinyl. It's only original once and I like where it's at right now, some genuine patina. I'll hit with some magic eraser action and clean up some spots but that's it. What I found interesting is a portion of the top of the right side has Gravitar art peeking through and you know, I actually find that cool and unique. I'd only accept that on a Black Widow because it's kinda like it's showing its roots, it's pretty poetic lol…

The CPO I'm debating…just simple once over with Simple Green shows the overlay is in pretty decent shape with the typical 43 year old wear. I don't think I'm leaning towards replacing the original either. I'm pretty big on preservation if you can't tell.

Now, this is a non time wasting individual! Hit it hard and heavy! Thanks for sharing those high res pics. Makes me smile. 🙇‍♂️

Sweet! That's funny, I have a Gravitar that currently believes it's a Black Widow. When I bought it years ago the guy who sold it to me had swapped it to Black Widow but included the Gravitar board and control panel (and marque, I think), so I can swap back to one of the hardest games I've ever played, or I can keep it a pretend Black Widow. I'll do the latter still, love that game, it was so underrated.

IIRC the coin door from PP is different than the one used on Vectors. I know the wiring harness is different (though it's probably pinned the same). Coin doors look similar but are amazingly different. Found this out the hard way when I disposed of "spares" once.

I will definitely keep this in mind

After a good bit of time downstairs, Black Widow's made it upstairs to the arcade. In its own dedicated corner. I had to move my Magnavox 27" CRT I use for 6th gen and below console gaming but she deserves her own spot IMO.

Centipede cabaret received a full restore I detailed in that forum. It moved to the corner to the left of Black Widow's corner. New burn free tube in there with the G07 too. The upright now waits for its new home in my garage.

Out Run has a special place in my home office, where some of my Sonic collection resides. No better place for a Sega icon than to sit next to a Sega icon.

It's good to have these three here at home.
