What do you think are the best lighting effects you can put in your game room?

I was thinking of getting some sort of LED projector that shoots red, green, and blue light dots all over the ceiling in patterns. Like one of those that a DJ would use. Anyone know of any good model projectors? I see them all over Amazon but they're only red and green and have some pretty lame patterns. Others can be quite expensive.

That website almost has it all...I actually got another idea from that website...a gobo projector; however, it seems like it may be a pain to make your own gobos with 35mm film and such. I'm sure you can print these out somewhat easily but not sure.

I was really looking for a laser projector with red green blue that projected super small dots that randomly shoot across the ceiling like a dj would have. They almost look like stars instead of the big squares circles that cheaplights.com's projectors have. I know that cointakers had them at the york show this year...I haven't heard back from them yet...I know this isn't something they normally sell. Wish I had more info about this.

the lazers are very cool, placement is the snag they need to be eye level somewhere in the room to hit the floor walls and ceiling...I like them I have 2 but you have to be careful you don't nail peoples eyes...

I really want the old school lamp style you set in the corner and it rotates on heat from the bulb and throws colors around the room with the black lights on its pretty awesome and wont hurt the eyes and get the motion light theme going, Braido has the exact unit in his arcade I am looking for.

Might be this, but it's red and green only. I think the RGB lasers are really expensive

So I have one of those as well. Search Amazon, you can get them dirt cheap. Problem I have is that my arcade is in a basement with low ceilings. The only place I could really put it without nailing people in the eye, was hidden up in the joists, pointing straight down. It only hits the floor this way, but it makes kind of a neat "laser welcome mat" at the base of the stairs.

Personally, I don't like them reflecting off the game screens either, distracting.

I have the exact same situation...low ceilings, small room. In the interest of not blinding people with lasers and not having the lights bounce off my screens and playfields I opted against it. But, they're still really cool for those who can pull it off.

Go to Deal Extreme (It's just dx.com now) and search laser projector.

I got one similar to this months ago:

I have sort of low ceilings as well and did not want to blind anyone. Mine is hanging about mid room pointing to one end of what is a rectangular shaped space. It skims the ceiling and does a good job of filling the end wall with some bleed over to the side walls. All while being high enough to not blind anyone.
