Have a midway mk2 cab. Pulled the burnt out coin slot bulbs and can't see any identification markings on them. Anyone know what the replacement would be?

The schematic shows 5.9v going to the coin door and lists #555 bulbs for cabinet hardware. Standard wedge style bulb you can get almost anywhere.

They're 555's. Very common in many games.

Do yourself a favor and replace them with red frosted LED's, and never have to replace them again. I get mine from pinballbulbs.com, but there are plenty of other sources:

The LEDs look indistinguishable from the originals from the outside (I've compared side by side), and also give a cool-looking red glow when you open the coin door. I converted all of my games' doors to LED, and never looked back.

Arcade places should start selling these. LED should be the future of replacement bulbs. (I'm tired of hunting for incandescent replacements.)

For dudes who don't do pins. We need a source.
Nothing at Arcadeshop or Twisted Quarter. Will continue looking...

You don't have to own a pinball to order LEDs. There are plenty of places that sell LEDs

These seem to be the most popular

I think the point was we could order them with other orders, and not need to pay separate shipping for a few bulbs, as we all order from these other vendors regularly already.

I agree.

Ah. Doesn't look like they have red, or any of the other colors that are a little more fun to use, though. White is ok, but it would be nice to have a variety. I also like the ones with the diffused lenses as well.

I can't speak for any others, but I did a side-by-side of the frosted ones I get from pinballbulbs.com with the original incandescents, and I can't tell the difference from the outside. You also want to make sure you don't get the crazy-bright ones, as they won't look right, and can potentially damage the plastic buttons.

I typically match the LED color to the color of the return button. Gives a nice glow when you open the door.

White would work if they sold a diffuser to go with it. Maybe I can build a diffuser. Maybe I should check ebay. Maybe I should just suck it up and order from a pinball place and pay to ship a box with 59¢ bulbs. :friday:

As always, I appreciate all the tips you share. The blue Tempest coin lights with blue start LEDs is especially nice.
