Someone in my area has these for cheap. Never played either b4. Just wanted your guys opinions on these games if there very fun? Thanks.

Life force is one of my child hood favs- it is a great Konami game. If you buy it, I will give you $100 for the board if you decide you don't like it.

I love Cal. 50. Only complaint was that I thought the game was a bit on the short side.

I just sold a nice Cal. 50 kit about a week or so ago.

Have owned both and enjoyed thoroughly.
They also took a lot of my coin back in the day.

Definitiely pick up the LifeForce. I just sold the board on Ebay last month for $213!! Its jamma too, so you could pull the board and always put something else in there.

Life Force is one of my fav. side scrolling shooters. Definitely pick this up if you have any interest in those types of games.

I currently have R-type at home and love it. Is lifeforce even better?

It also has vertical scrolling stages, lots of voice narrations,
the power up items and method of Gradius/Nemesis and (((STEREO SOUND))).
And, as you've gathered, the PCB is worth a few bucks.

also.. Cal.50 has an awesome hendrix/doors style soundtrack, among other things.

Can you get better than R-Type for a side scrolling shooter? That would be a pretty tall order. Love mine.

Not saying it's better (also an R-Type owner and it's one of the greatest side scrolling shooters ever), but it's in the tops as one of my favorites in the side scrolling realm. Life Force is better than Gradius, IMO. At least it was more fun for me. Oh that's right, it also turns into a vertical scroller as well, making it an even cooler game!
