In an effort to have the lamest question of the day... Is there a certain way to remove the lever arm on these bad boys?

I need to do 16 and don't want to mangle them :)

(shielding self from ridicule)

Thank you!
Matt

What are those commonly used for?

Yeah, the red side will separate from the black side (use something skinny to slide between them and pry apart), then the lever will slide out. Don't lose any of the internal pieces when you disassemble the switch though.

You can usually carefully pop them apart with a hobby knife blade. Go slow so you don't shoot the spring across the room.

I am replacing the switches on 4 Mag Stik Plus joysticks... the stock ones absolutely blow however they use a very short lever arm. So I need to pop them out and install them in the newer, lighter actuated switch.

Thanks for the replies. Sounds like a great job for a guy with terrible eyes and chubby fingers 😄👍!

Good luck and hope it works. I did this at one point as well and found that lighter switches won't center the sticks properly. Yes I know it is magnetically centered but it relies on these switch blades to keep it centered to some extent.

This is partially why I hate micro-switch joysticks. That and all that damn clicking. I wish someone would reproduce the wico style leaf sticks.
