Level 42 in the museum

Who might that be?

Don't mistake US prices for European one's....it may totally be worth the shipping.

Anyway, funny thing.....Last days of our holiday and I showed the pics of Funspot to my cousin where we are staying now and he wants to go !!!
So....tomorrow we will be back one more time !!!!!! It's only 1.5 hrs. From here so.....
Hope to see you again tomorrow Gary !

I have two cocktails. I started parting out the Rally-X cocktail and the Arkanoid: Revenge of Doh cocktail was originally a Galaxian.

So the plan was to re-orientate the monitor and convert the Rally-X cocktail into a Ms. Pac-man cocktail, and also convert the Arkanoid: Revenge of Doh cocktail back into a Galaxian cocktail. None of this would be a problem because I have all the needed parts.

I would have sent both games to Aart van Vliet. The problem is that Galaxian cocktail control panels use different controls than the upright Galaxian game, and since he has the world record on that title he may not like those controls.

But after thinking about it, the best way to get two of his games into a single cocktail is to re-orientate the Rally-X monitor and put both game boards in the cabinet with adaptors.

Then set it up so that Ms. Pac-man can be played from one side or Galaxian from the other. (Does Galaxian use the same joystick as Galaga?).

(I would just need to get custom artwork for under the monitor glass and two differnet control panel overlays).

Just an idea. :D

Wow, that's really generous...would love to see him have his own machine, and I know he can kill screen Ms Pac on a cocktail, because he's done it before. There is one flaw to your plan though, if Galaxian and Ms Pac use the same monitor orientation (I think they do), he's only gonna be able to use player 2 in the game for one of them, which most likely wouldn't be allowed for a record attempt (only exception I know of for that is Galaga, since player 2 shows the millions digit and player 1 doesn't, you're allowed to use player 2)

Well I think I read that Aart practices with MAME requiring him to steer with the left and right arrow key with the right hand and fire with the left hand.
The upright has the joystick on the left and the fire button on the right, so that's totally reversed and YET he manages to have world records on both MAME and the real hardware !

So I doubt cocktail set-up would be a problem for him

I don't understand what you are saying.

Even without an electronic game switcher one can just un-plug the main harness from one game board and plug it onto the other.

If the adaptors are made correctly, you'll will get a player 1 game when you press player 1 start, regardless of which game board is plugged in.

(In fact, it would be better to make sure that player 1 and player 2 start buttons are on both the Ms. Pac-man side and also the Galaxian side).

You said you wanted to have a Ms Pac 4-way on one side and a Galaxian 2-way on the other. Picture a regular cocktail, one side is player 1, other side is player 2. I assume you meant you'll have the Ms Pac stick on the player 1 side and the Galaxian on the player 2 side. If both games use the same monitor orientation, when you plug in Galaxian, it'll be upside down for player 1 if the stick is on the player 2 side. I don't know if that's how Galaxian is actually set up though, as I have one of those bootleg "Pac-Man on Galaxian hardware" boards, and it's upside down compared to all my other PCB's (except Crazy Kong)

Yep.....time always goes WAY too fast when you're having fun....

Still can't get used to work though....3 weeks of GREAT holiday, it feels like coming back into another world in the daily routine...plus 15 degr. Celsius temp difference.

Not complaining though, I consider myself lucky enough to have enjoyed this great holiday ! It'll be a GREAT memory...

Maybe next year we head West-coast.........and CAX....

What was your score? And, how close to the world record was it? Always like to hear about someone coming into the home of World Records and putting up a new high score. The regulars will be scratching their heads trying to figure out who in the hell topped them! Makes me smile...

Hah, I _did_ take a picture of my record at Funspot last summer (probably the last day I was there after reading this ;)):

As you can see, WAY lower than my personal best (75350) and LIGHTYEARS from the WR ;)

I wonder if it's still there !!!! Gary ? ;)

Wow, I am pretty proud ! :)

Never expected it would still be there as I normally am a rather mediocre player :)

Very cool, and when someone breaks it I guess I will have to come back to show I can do even better ;););)
