I have pretty much rounded up all the common classics that I had on my want list when I started seriously collecting. I am now looking for the more rare, hard to find and low production number games. I am thinking I need some lazer games to ad to my collection. I wanted to get opinions on Game play, Rarity and the price I would expect to pay for the ones listed below that interest me. In working condition or as comploete, non working game. Also, If I needed such items to complete one such as a lazer disc player, what would I expect to pay? Obviously I am not going to find them all, nor do I want to but I would like to have a few from this list because these are the ones I remember playing. Any input at all would be a great help.

NFL Football.

I remember that one at my arcade circa 1983-1984. It was brand-spanking new...and no one paid any attention to it. Then it broke like a week later; then it was gone.

Cliff Hanger rules. I never get tired of mine surprisingly. It's always "broken" when kids come over though :)

I paid 2k for mine, working, in "A" condition and if I was not lazy I'd put new T-Molding on it and it would be an A+ but fuck I'm so lazy.

At one point I had all those lasers except interstellar. I would rank them:

1: mach 3 it was my favoirte was . You can convert it to us vs them, so thats an added bonus..

2: star rider is cool. but my buddy used to call it rail rider.

3: cliffhanger is very hard.. I don't think I got very far as I could never get the timing down..

4: space ace. good game, but I would rather have dragons lair..

5: interstellar. don't think I have ever played it, so it goes 5.

60: astron belt.. horrible game.. I don't think galaxy ranger could be worse, so convert it to that..

*I would put firefox on the list at #2 and push the others down....

3: cliffhanger is very hard.. I don't think I got very far as I could never get the timing down..

The window you have to make moves at times is so so slim that even if you have every single move memorized throughout the game it is not a foregone conclusion you will achieve success. It is indeed a tough game.

My first game was an Astron Belt. I picked it up broken and it was an easy fix. I would have been pissed had I paid more than 50 bucks for it or had to put more than a few hours worth of work into it. That was a truly awful game. The only thing nice about that game was the side art. If only Sega had put as much effort into the actual game as Bally did into the cab art, it would have kicked ass. I traded that one to eXidy who wanted it purely for nostalgic reasons. Luckily he has so many other games that anyone who is pissed off after playing Astron Belt can find something else in his collection that doesn't suck.

Didn't like it much when new, seems better now on Daphne at least

Star rider Upright or sitdown

Liked it when new. Just bought one of these, hardware wise it seems failry temperamental but I think it's a good game and have enjoyed playing it so far. Sit down is the way to go if you have the space.

Astron belt

Didn't like it when new. Owned one for a long time, I find the gameplay non sensical and pretty dull

Intersteller upright or cockpit
Clffhanger

Played them both on Daphne only, wasn't that taken by either of them but probably doesn't do them much justice unless you have them in a full size cab.

Space Ace

Liked the look of it when new just didn't like the gameplay. Have owned one for years, I prefer it to Dragons Lair although it's very linear it the way it plays out. It has better sound FX and Music than 'lair'.

*M.A.C.H. 3 Cockpit or upright*

I am looking for an UR right now, so clearly it's a game I like and want. There is one on ebay now, but the pics aren't good, so I asked the seller to post more and with more details. Definitely a fun game and a good addition, especially the CP. A local fellow is selling one, so google "Overland Park Kansas" and "MACH3 Cockpit".

*Star rider Upright or sitdown*

Fairly obscure game, but fun. Definitely go for the sitdown if you can find one.

*Astron belt*

I have to be one of the few folks that truly appreciate this game. Galaxy Ranger game play is similiar, but adds some elements. I have and play both games in my AB.
BTW, I have an AB/GR for sale right now! :>

*Intersteller upright or cockpit*

Would like to play one, but have hardly even seen one (never in person).

*Clffhanger*

Fun, but challenging and takes time to learn. Cool cabinet.

*Space Ace*

My all time favorite laser game and I do own one. It is set-up to also play Dragon's Lair. Whoever snagged that one from ebay got a deal.

Games

Thank you for all the input. Very helpful. Looks like MACH 3 is the most popular one I mentioned and Astron BElt is the least desired. What kind of prices should I expect to pay for these? It seems some are very obscure so I have not seen them sold in a long time myself. I was hoping people in the know would have sm input on this as well.

Can't believe I missed this thread....

I'll comment on three of those listed...
Star Rider- I know alot of people bash this but this is the one laser game I want the most!! Especially the sit-down model....Ahh soooo many memories of this one and yes this baby is hard--don't think I have never past the fourth track....Where are you guys finding these???

Interstellar- Played the upright version of this and kinda remember the gameplay being o.k. but WOW the background visuals were amazing!

Mach 3- Played the upright and sitdown version of this. Always chose the bomber because the fighter always kicked my arse. Even made the landing a couple of times on bomber. Honestly this was my least favorite of the lasers....

I just bought a nice looking Mach 3 cockpit. It came with a few extras so that was cool too. Now I just need to shoe horn this damn thing in the garage.

Any need a 38" RCA HDTV? If not it will be at the curb tomorrow am for the trashman. That should free up one spot. :)

How was the condition of that Zud? Was thinking about pulling the trigger on it but honestly only to get it for trade bait....

Star Rider in TX

I have a really nice Star Rider upright I would sell at some point. It's in the warehouse and I have not spent any time to see if it works. The cabinet and art are in great shape though.

The TV or Mach 3? :p

Mach 3 is in good shape, plus I got a few extras. :D

It only has a few scratches on the sides. The inside looks like new it is so clean and neat.
