Lets see your Jamma test rigs

Mostly finished:

UPDATE: Over in the restoration forum, I am quickly turning this test bench into a way to save a stripped Defender cab. After years of being an arcade collector, it makes a lot more sense (for me) to make a game whole again rather than a bench. It has been quite a journey for what was a collection of spare parts on a shelf, to a test bench, to a real* Defender again.

*albeit a 19-in-1 solution to the problem and expense of original parts/PCBs

My rig has been a work in progress for a few years now. Still would like to add an amplifier to the sound and easier access to the +5 voltage control.

Made from all recycled parts

Cheap! Only new part I had to buy was the cga-vga adapter. The wood came from the front panel of a Ms. Pac that had suffered an accident. You can see the kids playing Tetris on it in the pic.

I really like some of the ultra-polished setups that I see in this thread!

similar to what some others have done:

built this out of scrap parts with the intention to use it at warehouse raids/auctions etc. the lcd monitor runs off one of those vga adapters and not every board plays nice with it so it's not really as useful for that goal as it could be. there is an isolation transformer with a molex connector so you can hook up a real monitor to it. it is nice an portable though.

vid of it in action:

I am going to be making one in the coming week or two. I love the suit case idea. I just stripped a mercs cab for my boss and figured the transformer block would be a great start for the test bench. He has a lot of stuff and who knows the working condition of them. Also harder to diagnose the problems in the cabinet. Suitcase will be ideal. I can transport it more easily that way. Wonder how hard it would be to rig up a mini lcd screen on the top of the case.

Oo or maybe rig up 3 mini buttons and a mini stick into a small nes sized controller to go in the case for travel. Love the ideas this post has given me. :)
