So my Centipede was working great. I pull it out to play it and now out of the clear blue sky, the trackball decides to be a bitch again. The ball rolls smooth as silk as do the encoder wheels, but it barely moves the shooter up or down and it will not move left to right at all. Ive unhooked everything and hooked everything back up again. I dont understand what would cause the trackball to do this???

If your optos are going out, it would have that effect.

Or if the voltage was low at those boards, the same thing would happen.

Probably a bad 4584 input. Make sure you check and double check your GND connection between the board and the optos. Check the +5V at the optos. Swap the molex connectors at the trackball and see if the problems swap H and V. If so, then probably a bad 4584.
