Let's Discuss Rastan

My older brother and I played Rastan a lot when we were younger. The local candy shop had it. I would be lucky to get through the first level. My brother's friend could beat it on one quarter though. Insane!

I'd have to see that to believe it.Rastan's not an easy game.

I liked both Rastan and Gladiator, although I think it could've been done a little better. If I had to choose Black Tiger vs Rastan I'd have to give a slight edge to Black Tiger. Off topic, but I'd choose Rolling Thunder over both these games any day.

I played it a little but never got into it. When they came up with Cadash I found similarities in it but loved the Coop play and I really got into that game for some reason. I have 2 boards and the link cable. One day it's a dream to have a dedicated setup for the two.

WOW! Cadash is a way better game than Rastan Saga 2!

I would give the edge to Rastan, don't get me wrong, I love Black Tiger.

I played alot of Rastan back in the day. It's been on my want list for a long time but I've not come across one yet.

Rastan was a pretty good part of my youth. There was a mini mart by the middle school that had 2-3 games. My best friend Isaac always played Rastan, he was pretty decent, getting to the 3 level or so. I would usually play the 1942 that was next to it. Good times, good memories.

Fast forward to a year ago, and I picked up a Rastan board to put in my Double Dragon cabinet. Imagine the surprise when I showed Isaac that I had his game :) He went on to play it for 2-3 hours the next few times he was over. Other visitors liked it as well. I personally got a bit tired of the music.

That's crazy. The other game the Synder's Drug had where I used to play it was 1942. Rastan is hard. The timing of the jumps from the ropes can be frustrating. Some of the boss battles are hard. Winning it on one quarter is hard to believe, but I guess if you can get to the last level like that, you have to do it there anyway cause you can't continue.

I am just so glad you sold yours to me! :D

I played Rastan a bunch as a kid at the local Dairy Queen. It was on my original "must have" list back in 2002. I finally got a board and marquee after a few years in the hobby but those just sat in a drawer until about 6 months ago when I finally put it into a cabinet dedicated to Rastan.

For some reason my score, and the rest of the text on the top of the screen is Italics. Nothing else is though, not even the text in the beginning of the game as it scrolls up the screen?

awesome! I liked this game a lot, but I sold it knowing I could find them easily. If all goes well with this cabaret conversion I will definitely be picking up another pcb.
