The more I look into this game, the more I want it. I believe it would be a great kids game. So...

1.) Who owns one?
2.) Would it make a great kids game?
3.) Add comments about the game.

Thanks!

1. I don't

2. Kind of. The theme makes it kind friendly but it's a fairly deceivingly difficult game that aside from the 1st level would likely frustrate them depending on what age we are talking.

3. I like it a lot, I hope to max out the score one day on it, I'm about half way there. I'm surprised at how cheap I'm seeing them around lately considering I had believed it to be pretty tough to find and now I've seen a handful all at the same time.

I recently acquired a cab after owning the board for a couple of years. The game is easy until about the third wave of stages... then it gets insane! Beware after beating stage 3 twice, the game forces you to play a bonus version of stage 3 with dolphins. I have yet to be that stage!

its a tough game i dont know if kids would like it. i know i like it, and my friends like it.

I own one.

I do love it. It's fun to play. But as others have said, it's far from little kid friendly. This game was meant to eat quarters.

There are few different versions. One that just goes through levels 1-6 or a level select version. At least with the level select version there is more choice and the kids might like it better.

Best thing to do is try it out on MAME and see if it's something that your kids would like.

Like was said before, it is a fun game. But it is a very challenging and can be frustrating game. (the Dolphin bonus levels piss me off...lol)

Mod needs one

YES I DO!!!

I have the boardset, the flyer, a 2-way Monroe joystick (the original), and even a Circus Charlie clock hanging in my gameroom.

I've pretty much given up on ever finding an affordable one around here, so I picked up a crappy Gyruss cab that I will eventually convert into a Circus Charlie.

I haven't played in a while (usually plug it into my nice Gyruss), but here is my current high score:

I have only played it in MAME, but I was surprised how much I enjoy playing the game. Like everyone else said, it is probably too hard for young kids.

We have one and it's a blast. My 10 year old son is great at the game and my almost 8 year old daughter is just starting to "get" it. I think some people underestimate the talent of kids because my son is just amazing at some of these old games. Now I feel like I know how some of the old people felt when they watched me play all those years ago. :)

BTW, my son just gave me the lowdown on the Dolphin stage and he says he get's through it 75-80% of the time. :D

Its been a while since I played it but it is fun and damned hard. It certainly is deceptively difficult. Pooyan and Mappy are the same way. The cutesy theme makes you think it is easy but they are anything but.

I can get through the 1st dolphin stage without any problem, but I haven't figured out if there is a way to get all the money bags and get thru it. Haven't figured out the 2nd dolphin stage yet. I usually wait until I finish all the other stages before I mess with it after the 1st two stages.

I load up on free guys at the lion stage, figured out how to get the extra money bonus at the end of the tight-rope, trying to master the trampolines for maximum points, memorizing the patterns of the balls, and trying to find the best spots for passing jumps in the trapeze.

Still, since you max at 999,990 and can never be the top scorer on Twin Galaxies, I haven't been concentrating on points as much as just finishing them all...

I hear you there. It's one thing to get through the dolphin stage. But I'm having a difficult time trying to get all the money bags on that stage as well and not lose a life. :p

I've got my board setting on the factory default settings. Just for kicks I put it on EASY setting to see if it would be easier for my youngsters. Well, it is a little bit more lax. But it still puts up quite a challenge on Easy as well.

However, I usually just leave it in the factory default(normal) setting when I play.
