Hi, I need some help/advice. My Lethal Enforcers is having issues with the guns. Actually, the guns work fine, I tested them on a Police Trainer. One gun flashes the screen when you pull the trigger, but doesn't register shots on the screen. The other gun has trouble with shooting the sides and corners of the screen. I think the monitor has to be demagnetized, but I have no idea how to do this, or if that is the actual problem. Please help, thanks!

Yeah, I turned up the brightness, but that didn't help. It's got to be something else...

Well, I didn't want to jump into optics or anything like that.

Is your screen and mirror absolutely clean ?
(sounds stupid, but you'd be surprised how dirty they get)

Swap gun plugs on the pcb..... same results for both sides ?

I already swapped the guns. They act the same. I'll clean the monitor. I'm sure it's got dust and dirt on it. That would be great if that's the problem. I'll post later with results. Thanks.

I never thought of this before, but after doing it on my Carnevil it made a WORLD of difference... maybe check your +5 voltage. if your power supply's +5 is below 5 volts that would certainly cause problems I'm sure.

I would think if your glass/mirror/tube were dirty you'd at least get something, albeit very inaccurate, at least.

A low +5 will cause gun problems, but it sounds still like you have weak opto's in the guns.
some guns may work on other games but the monitor might give a brighter flash and they work a little better.
Some monitors in lethal enforcers need to be rejuved in order for the guns to work better.
Switch the gun connectors on the board around. One becomes two and two becomes one.
If the problem stays the same then you may have a bad input buffer i.c..

Also, if there is too much light in the room, it'll affect the guns functionality.

When you pull the trigger, do you get a firing sound, or do you get a continuous reload sound?

Go into the test menu and see if the guns register on the grid. try removing the plastic bezel and putting the gun directly up against the tube....
