I have a dedicated lethal enforcers cab that I would like to run a Jamma switcher in with a few shooting games. Not all shooting games support a mirrored function though. My idea is to flip the horizontal yoke connection on the chassis to make it display my other games backwards so I can play them in this cab.

Has anyone else done this? Any reason why this would be a problem?

The guns connect directly to the game pcb. Do you plan to open it up and switch the guns to the game pcb that you want to play every time? Or is there some way to switch the guns (switcher or wire hacking) as well?

I plan on splitting the wires between all the boards using diodes if necessary.

I'm not sure you'll need to swap the yoke connectors or not. I don't know that LE was made to be upside down on a regular monitor, or if it was made normally and the yoke was changed when the monitors were installed in the cab. you may find you don't need to do anything.

Also, some games have a dip switch setting to flip the image, so you may be able to just do that...

Lethal Enforcers is by default backwards so it can be played on a mirrored cab. If you want to play it on a regular cab you need to turn on a dipswitch so that it can be displayed on a regularly oriented monitor.

Most of the newer shooting games do not support a mirrored/backwards function. If I flip the horizontal connector I would be manually making all the games display backwards on the monitor so that even the ones that don't support a mirrored cab can be played in one.

This will keep me from having to keep a seperate cab for shooting games that don't support cabs with mirrors and it also gives a better experience since it pushes the image farther back.

Pretty sure you'll have to flip the vertical, too, otherwise you wouldn't be able to read the writing.

And I checked the dip switch settings in CrazyKong and the LE2 manual, and it didn't say anything about flipping the image via dip switch, but I didn't look thru the entire thing...

You're right about the dipswitch settings. I just remembered it's done through the menu screen. I'll have to check the board tonight to see how the game is displayed on the monitor. If I can run all of my shooting games in this cab it would be great. I'll be sure to post what's needed to make this happen. I'm sure I'm not the only person who would like to get a bit more use out of a dedicated Lethal Enforcers cab.

In case anyone is wondering, both the vertical and horizontal yoke connectors need to be flipped. :)

Love to hear more about this....

I just picked up a Lethal Enforcers Cab in great shape and would love to run a few different games on it.. Please share details if you dont mind....

Here's a link to something that Bob Roberts wrote a while back on yoke flipping.

You will want to find the yoke harness on your monitor and split it as shown in the picture.

You then plug the horizontal section back into the chassis as normal but flip the vertical part. This will flip your image vertically.
