Lethal Enforcer's II Blind spots but only on Player 2

I just popped a LE2 in my Lethal Enforcer's cab and I have the weirdest issue. Player 1 can shoot pretty much anywhere on screen, but player 2 can't... if you go into the GUN Check menu it basically can shoot the middle targeting box, but nothing around it. Player 1 can shoot fine. Swap the original LE1 and everything's fine again.

Any idea why my P2 gun may not be registering the rest of the screen ?

First reaction would be to clean plastic lens and sensor,
but if it works 100% on the other board...
Be certain there is no light interference from overhead lighting.
I'd say change out capacitors on the suspect board, but I doubt
any of them are associated with gun operation.
Swap the gun inputs on the board, too. See if problem follows
the physical gun or stays with player #2 input, to further isolate.

Like yaggy said, swap the 1P/2P guns at the connector and see if it follows the gun or stays with the port. But my first guess would be that the gun optic is weak... I'd try bumping the +5V up a little bit and see if that has any effect. If LE2 draws more current than LE1, you'd have a larger voltage drop and the +5V at the gun would be lower.

Good catch! Yes, always re-check your +5 when changing boards. It's good practice. I noticed I have to readjust whenever I install a Unico gun game, for example. Some optical gun games also have internal brightness settings in the service mode, so check for that too, it could be set low. Police Trainer & Sharpshooter have this option setting, not sure about LE2.

Ok cool. I'll double check the brightness on the monitor and the guns if it's in the service menu, but I have a question about the voltages. Total n00b here, how would I check the voltages? and if they are Wrong (low / high etc...) how do I go about fixing that?

Here's a page that explains it: http://www.coinopspace.com/forum/topics/testing-your-switcher-power . The only thing I'd add to that is that you want to adjust it so the voltage is good at the PCB, not at the power supply (there is a little bit of a voltage drop across the wire going to the board). This page explains that a little bit: http://blog.collectedit.com/post/20...powered-arcade-game-Test-those-voltages!.aspx .

Also, although it's called 5V, you don't need to adjust it to exactly 5.00V... most games like a little bit more, like 5.1V... but some like no more than 5.0V, so you really just need to experiment with the voltage a little bit.
