I picked up a lethal enforcers cabinet today. When powered on, all the lights on the cab come on, but no sound or picture or anything else are working. at first i thought maybe a monitor problem, the screen kinda "fades away" when i power off the cab, so i think it is getting power, just no signal. then i found no sound was working. i got to the pcb board and find the plug on the board for sound has nothing plugged into it. now, i am new to this and im not sure if the sound comes from the jamma connection or through that port. i plugged the board into my capcom bowling machine and i get a picture (although it is not legible, i think it is sending a positive or negative video signal to the monitor where the monitor is needing the opposite that is receiving), so i think the card is pushing out a signal.

what should i look for first for the reason i am getting nothing in the cab it was in? monitor issue? is a blown fuse possible? i am new so i have no clue where to even begin to track this problem down. any advice is welcome!!!

Check the power supply. Yes, sound on a Lethal Enfocers should come off of that connector if it's a dedicated factory machine. Otherwise, i'm pretty sure the board will output mono sound through the JAMMA connector. If you don't have a dedicated cabinet, then chances are that streo sound may not be used. The easiest way to tell is see where the wires from the speaker(s) go.

sounds more like a power supply problem, i bet your 5vdc is ded

yeah, looks like it may be the power supply. i dont have a mutlimeter to test it but i will get one tomorrow...

If you tried the board out in a capcom bowling and it didn't work then then there is an issue with the board. You shouldn't start replacing parts until you've ruled out any other possible issues.

If the Lethal Enforcers board is coming out of a dedicated cab with stereo sound then dipswitch 1 should be off. If it's a conversion cab then dipswitch 1 will be on as that is the only way the board will output sound through the Jamma connector. If the surcface mounted caps have taken a crap then you won't be getting any sound out of this board period, well other than possible static.

I've had 3 Lethal Enforcers cabs (1 conversion 2 dedicated) and about 4 loose PCBs so I know a little bit about this game.

replaced power supply, same symptoms...

R3LL1K (or anyone), what would you suggest looking at next? like i said, in the capcom machine, i had garbled picture on the screen. on this one, nothing. no sound, no picture, nothing. i have a multimeter now and willing to test whatever is suggested as i would love to get his machine going...

If you would like to start with the board I would suggest checking the voltage in your Capcom bowling game.

As far as the monitor, check to see if the fuse is blown.
