Let the Tron price gouging begin!

the problem is the tron that guy is selling has major graffix glitch problems the art its about 80% and the joystick is not original and is hel togather with elect tape and wire ties

Where did you get all of that info? As far as I can tell theres no pictures in the CL link. He didnt say anything about a graphics glitch either.

$1500 isn't out of the realm outside of this place.

Oh yes it is. The only way anyone in here would pay $1500 for a Tron would be if it had $1499 in quarters sitting in the bottom of the cab!

I tried to post a Tron cab for sale here that came with Darin's full art package, a new picture tube on a rebuilt K4900 but the cab needed to be restored for $500.00. NOT ONE TAKER, just a bunch of PM'ing assholes with shitty comments. I'm not going to throw anyone under the bus so dont ask.

I've since started the restore and it will either get sold for right around $1k or I will use it in one of our theatres when the movie comes out.

SORRY, I read your post wrong. I had a kid yelling at me about needing some damn food (not sure why she couldnt get it herself) and I read what you wrote too quickly. My bad!

$1500 isn't out of the realm outside of this place. The full artwork package alone coupled with a brand new monitor(if you can find one) is gonna set you back close to a grand. I'm gonna play the guinea pig and put my restored game on ebay tonight (with a reserve of course) just to see where the market's at. You guys can all watch it, pick it apart, laugh at it or whatever you want to do. If it doesn't sell, no big deal, it can stay where it is along with all the other unplayed games.

Agree with this, I plan on selling one of mine next month and should get a pretty penny for it when the movie comes out.

Let us know when yours is listed chris, I would like to track it.

I still can't believe that didn't sell.

It should be on ebay about 7:00 your time Dan

BTW Gamefixer, all that new artwork and a shitload of time to restore one of these is worth way more than a thousand bucks. I put over 300 hours into mine and would never take a grand for it. I'd scrap the fucker out first which i've been known to do.

Yeah, me too. I thought I was being pretty fair. I also have the ability to pallet and ship from my building so shipping wouldnt have been a big deal.

Oh well, I get to play Tron for a few months now!

I know its worth more then that but so is my sanity and I just want the games out of my house. No one plays them EVER and the room is so much better of as my office now.

That gives me the extra room in my media room for a theatre too.

Matt

And then they're going to have to choke on it when they get bored and want to sell it in 1-2 years! Can't wait to see people take the loss on them. For me, I wouldn't even sell mine for $4k...too much blood, sweat, and tears in it:

Where'd you get the Tron helmets from ???

Personally, i don't think the movie is gonna have that big of an impact on the games value The original movie blows, the gameplay of the game itself blows and the only reason it's getting this much attention at all is cuz Disney is forcing it down everyone's throat.

Made them myself. I honed my game restoration skills on making movie replica props first. Bought the Cooper hockey helmets on E-bay, used a lot of freeze frames on the DVD and publicity photos and created my own Photoshop "decals".

Well, since I'm lazy. Could you make me one ???? :)

I'll pay of course

Haha...no chance in Hell. Just like I'd never restore another Tron again...unless it was for myself. You couldn't pay me enough. I don't even know where the Photoshop files are anymore. They were like 2 computers ago and I don't know which backup disc they might be on.

Hahaha it was worth a try :)

They look good.

I think all the price jacking is retarded. Put all your Trons on eBay the day the movie comes out with a starting price of. 99 and no reserve. I dare all of ya. Double dare ya! And no "machine is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end auction at any time" either!

I'll take that dare... and I'll even list my Tron for a penny. It's really hit or miss when you do it that way but it's exciting to watch. Sometimes the price goes higher than if I did a buy-it-now and sometimes it comes in a lot lower. So we'll see. I'm listing it on Thanksgiving & will post a link.

one is on ebay near sf ca. for $2,000 the seller states "as seen in the new tron film"
from the pics it looks to be in nice shape.
