Let’s save a Mad Planets

If you've seen Q*Bert's backdoor, you've seen Mad Planets.
You're not yet ready, so it seems, to be a member of KLOV's BackDoor Club. :)
Maybe one day ...

I am pretty sure mach 3 is also all on the back door too except for the laser player. I would assume qberts qubes and krull are also on the back door too.

nice work on saving the cabinet. I had a reactor with an expanding bottom edge of the sides, but I got a nice gutted cabinet and put my parts into it.

MDF cabinets are awful they just want to self destruct. This one has its moisture zits but for the most part it's going to be a nice example. I've learned to be a 90% guy with my projects and be at peace with that.

I just keep an eye out for a better cabinet and trade up. fizgig parted out a really nice reactor cabinet many years ago. I bought it on ebay for like $50 and had it trucked up to cax. gave my cab to another collector from portland? who was at cax.

Yeah, I would wet sand both sides and then clearcoat it. Obviously keep the 'wet' part to a minimum, just enough to keep your sandpaper gliding evenly over the surface.

Fat bottom Reactors make the MDF world go rounds. BOOM.

Same problem with mine before I sold it to a KLOV member in Chicago whose son probably set new world records with it like he did with....

MAD PLANETS!

Not much more to do now. I need to source a few missing bolts, rebuild and retube the monitor and find a power switch to relocate to the proper location.

The repro wico spinner run seems to be taking a while but that's just the way those things go sometimes.

I actually used Novus 3 on the black to take it down a bit and then went over everything with some carnuba wax. Still not fully happy with the touch up on the red but if I'm going to get it any better I need to just redo it. Maybe further down the line I will.
