lend help IDing Neotec 39" from Cruis'n Exotica?

as title suggests, I don't know Neotec's models, so I figure I'll piss in the wind at ol' KLOV once more to the missing fanfare of replies.

I'm inclined to believe it's medium res, not high res, but what the hell do I know. I know this: it needs caps real soon like.

I know Randy Fromm swears by these things, but are flybacks and other electronic parts generally readily available for them, and you think I can find a capkit at Bob's for whatever it is?

thanks.

I swore I replied to this earlier, but I guess it either didn't post or I'm just hallucinating (both equally likely)

in case anyone cares, the model in the deluxe Cruis'n Exotica is a Neotec 3501. I'm trying to understand their model system... I at least know if it ends in a 0 it's standard and if it ends in 1 it's medium res. :)

that said, I ordered the kits for it and then some. this particular chassis was in very bad shape when we got the game, probably the worst case of cold solder I've seen yet in a game. the game packs a punch with the sound, and it would affect the monitor to the point of a constant waving and in worst cases would shut off entirely.

I watched a tech basically resolder the whole underside of the damn thing inside the cab. it's worked fine since, but I want fresh caps and to go over everything else (it makes this unusual wee-wee-wee-wee-wee-wee kind of pulsing sound, and the pincushion is kind of jacked up). the whole thing is suspect. it has a Signature Sales repair tag on it if that tells you anything.

Probably a Wells Gardner K7600. 39" and CGA/EGA switchable. They
were also used in Rolling Extreme.

well I got my cap kits from Bob yesterday (that's Saturday), and I made a particularly infuriating observation about the Neotec Combo Kit (and Pincushion Kit)

they do not match the 3501 at all, despite being a listed model.

the cold solder nightmare that I mentioned initially boiled down to 1 fucking IC.

this thing had multiple wire nutted ground wires going to the tube ground, and they solder onto the neckboard cover for whatever reason. now I have diagonal lines in the raster that look like interference, but having someone serving as another pair of eyes, I think I narrowed it down to the ground wire that runs from the neckboard cover to the chassis frame.

any ideas on what to do about this?

and am I calling Happ up on monday for a kit for this thing or am I missing something here? the kit matches the 2500 perfectly, so it's right... if you have a smaller standard res one. :)
