Left Speaker sound problem in Crisis Zone - Time Crisis
I have a Crisis Zone which uses the same Namco "GASHIN" Strong Bass System that Time Crisis II uses. All sounds are present in the game and sound really strong and "bassy". However, 50% of the time the left speaker cuts in and out. I pulled out the left speaker and checked for bad solder joints or connector, and unplugged and replugged all connector assemblies back to the PCB's. The same issue still exists.
I read somewhere that maybe one of those 2 relays might be the issue. Can someone confirm this is a relay issue? Does each really belong to a separate speaker, or is one for the bass and the other for both speakers? Why does it even use relays, can they be bypassed without causing issues? Or is it just a bad amp chip on board?
