Hey all!

My Xenon's left flippers like a machinegun, it's really awesome to watch!!

But I want to fix it:) What could cause this? The flipper button leaf switch hasn't
got any diodes or disc cap (neither do the right button)

I hold in the left button, the switch closes and STAY closed and the flipper just fires
up and down like crazy...REALLY fast:)

Any advice?

Thanks!

its probaly the diode on the coil i had the same problem with my genie
i ended up just swaping oput tho whole coil and it fixed my problem but im 100% positive it was just the diode

My guess would be that the "hold" coil has gone open. Usually the wire will break at the lug and occasionally you can resolder it to solve the problem.

The EOS switch basically turns off the more powerful coil leaving only the weaker coil to hold the flipper up. If there's no hold-in coil the flipper will machine gun like you're seeing.

The coil has a broken wire either at the lugs or buried deep inside it. If you're lucky, the break will be right at the lugs and be easily repaired. If not so lucky and the break is inside the coil, then you need to replace the coil with a brand new one (or a good condition used one).

One thing you need to do right now is STOP playing the machine and don't operate that flipper in that condition. You'll burn up the EOS switch in short order and the rat-tat-tat hammering action will shear off screws.

The tiny coil wires have an insulating lacquer on them. That lacquer must be sanded/scraped/chemically stripped off the wire so that solder will stick to it. I usually carry a small piece of fine sandpaper with me for just such occasions.
