I'm looking to buy and put up LED rope lighting for my game room. It is a 24 x 24 space.

Changing color to the music is a must. Has anyone done this and if so, any recommendations?

I'll likely be purchasing off of Amazon.

Sylvania LED RGBW Color Changing Strip Lights RGBW Mosaic Flexible Starter Kit with Remote Control, 2-Feet LED Light Strips.

It won't change to music settings but will allow you to change colors and or strobe via remote and is expandable up to 20'.

Agree with jouststar on the lighting....I really like the Sylvania strips. I put a rail around the top of my garagecade and installed the strips pointing up towards the ceiling. Makes for some very nice ambient lighting that can be customized (to a point).

Unfortunately it doesn't cover your music changing requirement without adding another device in the mix.

one of my personal projects for the year is Arduino programming for something very similar

while you could probably buy something pre-assembled, you might be interested in hitting up youtube to see what other projects folks have done with audio-controlled LED displays

Just be careful, you don't want to end up turning your game room into a vomitorium with all the bling going on. :D
