Leaving games in houses....

FUCK, I wish there would have been some games in MY house when I bought it!!!
They DID leave some REALLY sweet old real-to-real tape players.....
Not sure what I'm going to do with them, I know NOTHING about them but I know they have to be worth SOMETHING to the right person, they are all in their original boxes!!

Previous owners of our house had a Missile Command. Not one of my favorites, but I was hoping they'd leave it - thought for sure they would. No.

I think it happens everywhere...there was a Time Pilot on the local CL here in Michigan a few months ago that said they bought the house and the game was left there by the previous owners.

I managed to inherit a pool table with my house.
I'm not complaining. Makes a nice center piece.

There was a local ad where someone was selling a kiss pinball and a couple vids. I called and it turned out to be a realitor trying to get rid of the abandoned games from a renter. I was working and wasnt able to snag them up before someone else did.

Moving sucks...

I often put everything up for sale right before I move.

I got a Journey upright for free that was left in the house when the original owner sold. It was an older house and was a pain to get up the stairs, but I didn't mind. I was really surprised I ended up with it, because the guy that gave it to me for free was the manager of a pawn shop and I figured he would have looked into how much it was worth.

This kind of happened to me once.

My neighbor directed me to a house where there was a Ms Pac on the side of the road. Apparently the sellers of the house hauled it out there when they left.

All it needed was a tweak to the Hfreq pot and it was good. The side art was excellent!

I spoke with the seller. They said it was a foreclosure, and the original owners left the whole house full of junk -- everything they couldn't be bothered to move and more.

I find it odd that people will lose their house, and sitting in the basement is something that they could have sold and made rent for a month. And then leave it there when they move out! I just don't get it.

What *is* it with people from Ohio leaving working games in their houses after they sell?

I bought my Scramble and the owner said it was in his friend's house when he moved in.

Now this on CL:

A fricking StarWars - and it WORKS.

When you lose the roof over your head you wind up worrying about a lot of shit that is much more pressing than an arcade machine. Although selling games will bring in some temporary cash, it's usually not the priority or a cure for the symptom. Plus, it's a hassle stacked on top of yet bigger hassles. Now imagine these people not being as into arcade machines as you. It's more a cool novelty.

It doesn't surprise me at all when I think about it. Their priority list of stuff to take is likely just the essentials and finding someplace to live/store said essentials. Arcade machines are giant, heavy chunks of recreational furniture. They likely don't just want the hassle of moving them, but also don't have room to store the thing wherever they are going.

If it was a very nasty foreclosure, they may have also had an extremely short time to get out.
