I am seeing a lot of people with multiple games and I must say I am jelous. Here is my question do most of you leave your machines on most of the time or will you leave the machine off until you want to play? Also do you leave it plugged in or unplug it when not playing?

Thanks

Games should never be "left on" if you don't plan to play it for a long time, unless it's for a party or something as "ambience". I've seen a lot of customers who leave games on ALL THE TIME whether anyone plays them or not, and wonder why it keeps breaking down.

As for me, all my games are plugged into surge protectors which are plugged into outlets that are controlled by a light switch. I turn them on when I want to play, and leave them off when I don't...

I never leave mine on as they are not here where I am 5 days a week. They are located at the weekend place 125 miles away.

Even if they were here I wouldn't leave them on. No need for the extra wear and tear except as MOD stated for party ambience.

I use to here that it's better to leave electronics on all of the time so they don't heat and then cool down all of the time, but for me, I shut them off. Also saves the eletric bill each month.
I've also began shutting off the breaker since mine are all one 1 circuit breaker, just in case of a lightning strike through the wires which can jump connections (power switch).

wow.

a Weekend place.. Must be nice ;)
Also Can jump breakers, if lightning hits This is why I yank the plugs too =-)
Local Cable station ran by a friend of mine took a hit over the weekend once.
And breaker was FUSED in the normal position Tested functional previously and wasnt sticky or anything. Computers smoked, a video editor smoked, Rest luckly was unplugged.

so Me personally Yank the plug as well.

I also unplug mine after playing/working on them, I'm actually kind of paranoid about it for this and other reasons. Considering I only have 3 machines at the moment to some of your guys' 10+ it's an easy task, I can see why those with more than a few machines leave them plugged in.

Wise man say it very good to keep games turned off unless one is going to play it. I also pull the plugs if there are storms approaching.Gotta do everything you can to protect the investments!

I only have a couple games, but I usually turn them off unless I'm coming back to one again within a couple hours. I did leave my DK on for a couple days though when I got a pretty good score (for me)...didn't want to erase it ;) I've since added the D2K kit which has high score save for both DK and D2K, so that's not an issue now.

I bought a Pinbot and the previous owner said he left it on for 3 years straight.....other issues aside, thats a "chatty" machine to be listening to for 3 years.

Pinballs are the worst to leave on all the time....it's hell on the GI circuits plugs/connectors.

Yep, I didn't understand it either. I don't leave computers on, and I know a lot of people do.

To each his/her own, I guess.

Just in the middle of adding onto my house for the Game room / Arcade and I had my electrician install a dedicated 100 AMP box with 8 circuits on it. Each circuit control an outlet. I can flip a switch that looks like a light switch on the wall and it turns on all the games at once.

You need to transplant your whole house a little closer to Kamloops once your done :p
