Leaf switch noise?

I recently bought NOS leafs for my cocktail. The new leafs sound exactly like the old ones. I would sure have to assume this is normal.

I doubt very seriously you are hearing any leaf switch noise unless they aren't screwed in tightly underneath. Usually you can hear a sort of "rebound vibration" noise from the rubber grommet snapping the joystick back to center. It's easy to silence that by keeping your hand on the joystick and not letting it just snap back to center.

Any other noise may be caused by a misassembled joystick. If you are missing any of the pieces between the c-clip and the grommet, or between the grommet and the balltop, then you may hear some noise because the pieces that are there have too much room to wiggle around....

If you can actually hear the sound of leaf switches actuating (with about a 1/16" or 1/8" gap) then you need to turn up the volume of your game....

That is probably the best solution! The only time I can find time to play is when my baby boy is sleeping...and his room is right above there room the game is in!!!

I have seen them do this and usually its caused by a wore out grommet. Replace the grommet and if its still making noise put a dab of silicon grease on the contact area of the leafs.
