Leaf switch adjustment tool?

I realize I'm a complete mo-mo, but who sells these things?

Looking for an arcade stocking-stuffer, so that seems a good choice.

Thx,

RM

Excellent - thanks, Brotherhay.

Any other suppliers that can be ordered from the web?

I'm trying to make it easy for a non-arcade-collector.

Bob's currently sold out of them unfortunately. I haven't found another source for them yet.

If you have a small, cheap flat head screwdriver that you don't mind losing, you can make one by cutting a slot into the tip using a Dremel cutoff wheel.

I just use the leaf switch adjusting tools growing on the ends of my hands (hint: they are called fingers). ;)

i've seen the pics of bob's tool before- he's been out of stock on them for as long as i can remember. But, from looking at the pics, it seems simple enough to me to make. Looks like 1/8" music wire- should be readily available from either a hardware store or hobby shop - its used alot in modeling and r/c aircraft.
Cut a piece 6" long, bend a 90 deg bend at 2". Use a dremel tool with cutoff wheel to cut a slot approximately 1/4" deep on each end. Then use the same wheel to taper the edges down, and you've got Bob's tool. A 36" piece of music wire should run around a couple of bucks, so you could make 6 and sell off the rest. lol.

Same... I just remove the switch, bend the leafs (leaves?) in a little and then reinstall them, and bend the outer leaf out until it feels right. I'm never in such a hurry that I can't remove the leaf and do it manually. Besides, while you have the leaf out, it's a perfect time to use the leaf switch cleaning tool (cardboard).

Thanks Ken.

Personally I'd go for one of the first two, since I've had problems with the third type breaking, even with minimal force, when adjusting switches.

You can tell y'all are a bunch of video arcade dudes, as it took until Ken to point out these are quite commonly used in pinball repair, so you should check the pinball parts sites....

Yup, pinball parts suppliers generally have leaf switch adjusters. I've got a full set of like 8 different ones I've accumulated over the years.

In the old days, the old technicians used to make their own out of motorcycle wheel spokes and cut a slot in them with a hacksaw.
