Sorry man, not really a thread that fits well but, at any rate, A few years back I picked up a Leader LBO-522 20Mhz scope and I've been meaning to find knobs for it.
Well I'm there now. Tore it apart and actually need to replace a few pots as they had been sheared off with the knobs.
Does anyone know of a place that may have parts for these old scopes? I just need a few 6 contact pots. 10K and 100K pots.
There's also this weird nylon mating champ-fer with set screws that attach a rod to the pot that cracked in half from age. I was trying to think of an alternative to make that work -?

Lowes or Sears hardware may have a coupling that would work in their special hardware section. I dont think Home Depot has a good selection like they do. Worse case scenerio if you're really stuck, a piece of automotive hose and a couple small hose clamps may do the trick.

As for pots, I know radio shack has a couple but not many, and as an alternative, I know music stores like guitar centers actually stock a couple pots since they're common replacement parts on electric guitars (most likely that they have 10k).

Last but not least...unless you have sentimental value, it may be cheaper/easier to just find a newer working scope. They're usually not that expensive and chances are you can find a 100mhz one. I found my Hitachi 100mhz next to a trash can one day! Check craigslist or ebay and do a "nearest first" search.

Yea I picked up another scope, a Tek 465b but was just trying to get this old one up to snuff. Interesting idea on hose clamps - lol.

heavy duty heat shrink tubing will work for the shaft to pot coupler.

I will try both. Just not sure they will have these older parts. I measured the stems of the pot and focus adjuster and they are 1/8". I tried CDJumps idea about using heat shrink. Seems a bit mushy-not sure it'll hold over time. I'll take a look at Sears but I wouldn't say their hardware section is very robust.
The last photo is a push/pull adjust switch so I may have a problem with that one.

6 lead pots? Mouser or Digi-key would be where I'd start.

The coupler will be easier.

CNC motor coupling. I think the standard size is 1/4" IIRC.

Well I think I've been able to source the B10k and B100k pots, they haven't arrived yet, so I'll know more when they do. However that long dual potentiometer (w/ push-pull switch) is definitely proving difficult to find. Most I've found have the single 3 contact row but not the 6 contact. I knew that was going to be a hard one to find.

Was looking for a switch for my Tektronix when I found this site.

They're out of the couplers, but pots are pretty much universal. Maybe you can find something here.

They seems a bit pricy. I would keep an eye out on trash day and look at goodwill once in awhile. You might just find a better scope or at least a source for parts.

Yea I was pretty much right. I got all the pots replaced except for the last one, the last picture at the bottom. The 10k Ohm dual pot with the box on the rear end of it. Push pull switch. I'm pretty much out of luck on that one I guess. It's the 'Level' control on the scope.
I've found that, although I did look through your link at the pots, alot of Tek and Leader stuff are totally different. No parts seem to work with either/or.
I've also found that performing multiple google searches for 10k Ohm Pot turns up alot of links for cannabis.
That shrink tube thing isn't working too well either. It doesn't shrink 'tight' and allows the rod to continue turning past the pots end travel.
So two things. That last box end pot and the focus rod retainer w/set screws.

What part of that is bad? Is it the push pull part or the vr (variable resistance) part?

EDIT:
focus retainer part= J.B. Weld.

If you look at the picture, you'll see that the rod is completely broken off of it as it exits the dual pot.

This guy, and yes I needed to cut my fingernails before taking this picture :p

If it is just the rod is broken and push pull or on/off and variable resistance is working, I would try to fix it.

I would drill a small hole into that shaft where it broke and put a small screw of some kind into the hole. Something like an Allen screw that holds control knobs on the shaft and drill similar hole in some kind of donor shaft. JB weld/loc-tight the screw into old and donor shaft.
