I know that currently tube displays can still be bought -- I just wanted to know if anyone has tried a LCD replacement like this?

My Galaga's monitor just died -- and while I am attempting to repair it -- I just wanted to know if anyone has tried an LCD in a classic cabinet like Galaga. For me the whole point of getting the Galaga cabinet is the nostalgia (CRT) of it all. Otherwise I could just play Galaga on my 32" LCD TV in MAME.

$410 for the "monitor" with a protective glass. Then you add the other stuff you need: mounting brackets and bezel kit. This brings the price up to a total of $510 without the outrageous Happ shipping charges.

Jeez, for $510 you could buy a whole machine!

Their silly LCD monitors don't even accept EGA signals. It's either CGA or VGA.

Thanks Ken, I really wasn't interested in them, other then how they looked in an old game like Galaga.
