My boss is letting me take a bunch of monitors home that are old. Im wondering if these would make decent arcade monitors for 60-1's as they are pretty old and aren't HDMI or 1080. The model number is HP L1906. The frequency range is 50-60hz and the native resolution is 1280x1024 at 60 hz

IIRC 1280x1024 monitors are also not 4:3 aspect ratio, unlike 1024x768, 800x600, etc.

So, depending on how the display is setup, circles will be eliptical. Not by a large margin.... but depending on the game, the monitor, and the setup, it might show.

I'm up for being corrected... as I am going by memory here. It's been known to be wrong... occasionally :)

I've never seen a 1280x1024 that is 4:3. It would have to have non square TFT pixels.

i.e. 1024x768 is 4:3 as 1024x3=768x4, square pixels, 4:3
but.... 1280x1024 .... 1280x3 != 1024x4, not 4:3.... unless the pixels are not square.

I'd be curious if anyone does know of a 1280x1024 display that is 4:3.

They are their own unique ratio....

I have 3 different 1280x1024 monitors here, 2 different Dells, and one NEC, and they all have square pixels, and are not 4:3.

Sorry, I was confusing that will a line of Dell monitors. Either way, they may still make viable "monitors" for a multi and compared to nothing better, such as an original tube monitor.
