LCD Marquee

I am interested to see what monitor he found (or had made) for that. I couldn't find any info on the site even after translation. This is the closest I have been able to get to it, and it took years to find an affordable one of those (they were originally $3000).

Because....hypothetically speaking, the only thing that is both more evil and technologicaly advanced than mame....is a Daylek

Very cool, i'd like to see the lcd too

Anyone ever looked inside an led display? depending how its made maybe you could cut off the half of the panel you don't want (ok, very unlikely)

went to all that trouble/cost but doesn't have the right controls to even play tron... makes sense.

I was thinking the same thing.
Rich guys and their retarded expensive MAME boxes with
3874 roms, only 80 of which can be played correctly.
Jealous I am not.

It does look cool, though.
Just... not worth the dough.
$1900 approx? Whew. I'll pass.

Sorry for resurrecting this thread. One sees this style of LCD all the time on gambling machines. I took my wife to the local casino a few weeks back and lots of the machines had oddly-shaped LCDs on them. They are mass-produced and probably easily obtainable if you know where to buy such things.

I looked at those. It looks like the 23.5 is a bit small for a standard JAMMA cab, and the 28" is too big.

Caltron makes monitors like this too. I shot them a message.

I would build a cab if I could get one of those screens.

You can buy one, if you have deep pockets.

My response from Caltron:

Greetings Bradley.

Thank you for your email inquiry. Unit price is $1,450, lead-time is 4 weeks. Is there anything else I can help?

Regards,

Jim

wow that is crazy.

There must be someone that stocks these, I see them all the time in gambling machines, as I said. It will be a matter of finding the right vendor, if anyone really wants to buy one.
